    Dixie Stordahl, PCN Correspondent|Feb 1, 2017

About 20 years ago, I read Michener's Centennial and I felt so bad for the early pioneers who had to put up with so little. The wind this weekend is driving me insane! I hope it stops soon. Sunday afternoon several people got together and cleaned everything out of the church and set up a temporary meeting place in the Loring Hall. I am confident that the soil conditions will be conducive to transporting the church building to the basement sometime this spring! You should have seen the piano...

  • Mustangs defeat Wolves, Blue Ponies

    Pierre Bibbs, Sports Editor|Feb 1, 2017

It's not typical that an athlete scores 17 points in a game on their 17th birthday, but that's exactly what junior Taylor Matthews did in Malta's win over Wolf Point. Matthews was second only to Nate Costin, who scored 18 in scoring during Malta's 75-43 victory over the Wolves last Thursday in Malta. Ostin Welch added 11 points to the total. "It was pretty exciting," Matthews said about playing on his birthday. "Everything is a little more intense and you are focused, it seems." The Mustangs...

  • Sweet, sweet victory!

    Pierre Bibbs, SPorts|Feb 1, 2017

Never again can it be said that the Dodson Coyote's last conference win was in the 2013 District tournament as the Coyotes dismantled the Nashua Porcupines 62-46 last Friday night. The Coyotes earned their first conference win in nearly four years behind a 16 point effort from Tyrese Messerly and 14 from Shaun Ball. "It feels great," Walker said. "I know people were talking saying, we only got a win over a JV team but now that we got a win over a varsity team. That should prove something. We go...

  • M-ettes defeat tough foes

    Pierre Bibbs, Sports Editor|Feb 1, 2017

Jada Nicholson didn’t seem too thrilled about turning 18, though she did her part to secure a victory for the M-ettes last Thursday in Malta against Wolf Point. “I’m sad,” she said. “I don’t want to grow up. I’m a child.” Despite having the similar disdain for aging like Peter Pan, Nicholson did not let that affect her game as she scored 14 points in the M-ettes staggering 58-21 win over the Lady Wolves. Nicholson also had four rebounds and three steals. She was also 6-of-8 from the field. Soph...
