    Sophia Stiles was named the Montana Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the second year in a row, and she has selected the Malta Boys & girls Club to receive a $1000grant made on behalf of the Gatorade Play It Forward Fund for 2016-17.     Phillips County Motorsports (PCMS) held their annual meeting last Saturday at the GN. At the meeting the board elected a new president and two Board Directors. Dan Stout of Harlem, who has been on the PCMS board since it’s inception in 2002, was elected as the club’s third president. He will replace Marty Lundstrom, who was the club’s president during the past year.     On Monday, April 17, the Malta track teams participated at the cold and windy Scottie Qualifier meet in Glasgow. Sophia Stiles took first place in four events during her first meet of the season. She won high jump after clearing 5-4, a new personal best. Stiles won the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.34, long jump with a leap of 16-8 and triple jump with a length of 35-2 ½.     On August 3, Malta Track and Field Coach Tad Schye will enter the Montana Coaches Association Hall of Fame along with 10 other inductees. "It's a humbling experience but it just feels surprising because it's hard to believe that a person can be at that point in their career," Schye said.
