Special meeting in Dodson to discuss repairs to town lagoon

The Town of Dodson will be holding a special meeting on Thursday, September 11 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a projected rate increase to help cover the cost of Repairs to the town lagoon, according to a letter written to the town’s people on September 1.

The letter states that the Town of Dodson’s lagoon has been experiencing a problem with the lagoon which stems from an incident that went unnoticed and undocumented in 2011 and since the problem’s discovery it has been deemed “fairly major” and needs to be fixed.

Because of the extent of the project to be completed, the Engineering firm who will work on the lagoon – Great West Engineering – along with DNRC officials has determined that the town will have to raise its sewer rates. The projected rate increase will be discussed at the September 11 meeting and the lead engineer on the project will be available to answer any questions members of the public might have.

“Please make an effort to attend and voice your opinions or concerns,” the letter asks.
