One Nation, Under God

Loring News for week of September 24, 2014

I have never seen the harvest be interrupted so many times by rain! It looks so lush and green up in the north country this year. It hasn’t been conducive for a great harvest with the highest protein, however.

I missed the news deadline last week so I am including a few items from then. Keira and kiana Simonson were in Browning over the weekend at the UIRA finals. Keira came out on top to win the year end in lady barrels qualifying for another trip to Las Vegas to compete in the INFR Finals. Kiana also competed in the college rodeo for U of M in Havre, and the week before in Cody, WY, Where she got third out of 68 barrel racers! Good job, Cowgirls!

Carol Lumsden and Amus Blunt visited Barbara Cowan in Malta at the Hi Line on Sunday. Barbara enjoyed seeing some friends from home!

Paula Morrison visited on Friday and brought some pretty posies for Barbara to enjoy!

Dee Arndt of Kalispell, Scott Cowan of Scottsdale, AZ, and Debbie and Ayden Richau of Billings were visitors at the Cowan farm this weekend. They brought Barbara out for the day and everyone had a great visit with Dixie and Tom Stordahl. It was Barbara’s birthday!

Dixie Stordahl attended the volleyball game in Whitewater on Thursday. The Junior High Penguins played Saco-Hinsdale. Brenda Clark and children and Chrisie Nolte and Aiden were also cheering on the girls!

Monica Taylor has been visiting Iver and Dean Johannesen for a few days. She lived here in Loring a few years ago.

Dixie Stordahl hosted Loring Womans Club on Wednesday. The dance was the main topic of discussion. It is on October 4!

I hope that all the crops are able to be brought in this week. The moon will be new so it will not be too bright! Did you see the moon with Jupiter at dawn last week! It was fabulous!

Sympathy sent to Judy Simonson and Debbie Phillips on the passing of their sister, Cissy Rummel. I’m sure that the memories you hold dear will help you both through this time of sadness.

Loring Lutheran will not meet this week. The Baptist minister from Whitewater will be in Loring at 2 p.m. for services at the Hall.
