Additional Locals: Work was started on a Catholic church in Dodson last Monday, which will be known as the Sacred Heart Church. It is to be a frame structure and is to be completed before Christmas. Henry J. Vermix of Chinook is the contractor.

Also: A fellow in Minot has it into a sure scheme for discovering whether it is safe to go into a well or not on account of the presence of gas, by first lowering a live chicken in a cage attached to a rope. If the chicken dies he says it is reasonably safe to say that there is a presence of gas, but if the chicken still lives when pulled up it is safe for a human to go into the well. With the chicken, however, it is a great deal like finding out whether or not you are eating mushrooms. If they don't hurt you, they are mushrooms, but if they kill you, they are toad stools.

The women prepared 12-different goods made from distiller's fried grains. A co-product of ethanol. The foods ranged from meatballs and vegetable dip to bread.

The presentation was part of WIFE's continuing efforts to promote ethanol fuel, an alcohol made of grains.

Malta Opportunities Inc. (MOI) has acquired some much needed storage space for the price of $1 thanks to the generosity of Triangle Telephone Cooperative.

The two-bay garage, which is located just behind MOI's building in Malta, had been used to store telephone service trucks in the past until a new facility was constructed one block east.

At the suggestion of a couple of MOI employees, Don Nevrivy contacted Triangle about the possibility of leasing or buying the building to provide much needed storage space.

Nevrivy said Triangle officials surprised him with an offer to sell MOI the building for $1.

"I think we can work that out," Nevrivy said.

The building, which also houses a small office and bathroom, will be used to store MOI vehicles plus furniture and other large items donated to the MOI Thrift Shop.
