Robert Ballard Tootell, Jr.

Robert Ballard Tootell, Jr. passed away on October 4, 2014 at the Valley View Rest home in Glasgow, MT. Bob was born to Robert B. and Helen Strong Tootell on September 30, 1929 in Bozeman, MT. Bob graduated from Gallatin County High School in 1947. After high school he worked for the REA, did a stint in the Army, and, finally, went to college at Montana State University where he graduated in accounting in 1956. He married Mae Brooks in 1954 and they had 2 children – Bobbi and Don.

Bob was an accountant in Bozeman for many years. He finally retired in 2006 and moved to Lewistown, MT where he lived for 8 years. He moved to Glasgow in May of 2014. He was an avid Bobcat fan and was thrilled to visit with anyone else who loved the Cats.

Bob is survived by his daughter Bobbi (Russell) Menge of Saco, MT, his son Don (Kristina) Tootell of Bridger, MT, his grandchildren Patrick (Haley) Menge, Christian Menge, and Jeremy Taylor, his step grandchildren Brittney Benson, Mitch Taylor, Jesse Taylor and his 4 children, and his niece and nephew Linda (Thad) Thomas and Chris (Jenny) Tootell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald B. Tootell.

Bob’s final wish was that his body be donated for research at his beloved Montana State University. No funeral services are planned. Donations may be made in Bob’s honor to the Malta Food Bank, PO Box 1371, Malta, MT 59538.
