One Nation, Under God

Stahl was fair to all as Justice of the Peace

Dear Editor,

I received a letter from Gary Taylor soliciting my vote for J.P. in Phillips County. In this letter, he stated the respect for the office was back with him in office. I don’t think the respect was lost, as Judge Stahl held the office for 30 years thanks to the voters of Phillips County.

As far as fine money went, I know she collected back fines as my son was one that got behind and she worked with him to catch it up. So I know she was definitely paying attention to the fines.

As far as underage guilty parties, they were put to work as Judge Stahl didn’t want the parents paying. She wanted the kids to take responsibility for themselves. She went out of her way to stop underage drinking.

As I remember, when she quit, Tana Oyler was running and asked to hold the office for a time until people voted. She was told no because she was running for the office. But so was Gary Taylor yet, he was allowed to take office. Where was the honesty there?

Judge Stahl was honest and caring for all the people of Phillips County regardless of race, gender, or standing in the community.
