Crimestoppers for the week of January 28, 2015

The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Burglary at a business on 1st St East in Malta. Entry was gained by breaking a window. Taken from the business and vehicles located in the business were approximately $50.00 in cash, an 18v DeWalt drill with battery valued at $175.00, a Gerber knife, .223 am-mo, and Steiner binoculars. The burglary is believed to have happened after 5:30 PM December 31, 2014, and 7:30 AM January 2, 2015.

On January 5, 2015, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a window broken on a pickup registered to Burlington Northern which was parked at the train depot. The damage is believed to have occurred sometime between 5 PM December 31, 2014, and 2 PM January 1st, 2015. Taken from the pickup were a Garmin GPS unit valued at $100, a Fluke multimeter valued at $359, a Verizon WiFi Hot Spot valued at $199, and a Blue Point ¾” socket set valued at $200.

It is unknown if these two incidents are related.
