One Nation, Under God

The passage of SB411 could ruin people's lives

Dear Editor, Citizens of Phillips County and Montana,

I am asking for your help in a matter of great personal concern to me. Montana Developmental Center in Boulder, MT., is on the verge of closing. SB411 passed in the Senate and House. There are only a few more steps until it reaches the Governor’s office for him to sign or veto it. If MDC closes, a lot of the clients would be lost in the shuffle with very little or no help at all as some of them have tried and failed to find the help they need.

So we would end up with even more homeless people, some ending up in prison eventually, even some committing suicide as they feel hopeless thinking they have nowhere to turn or go. So, please call your legislators and our governor and ask them to vote no on SB411 because people’s lives depend on it.

P.S. I have been involved in MDC for a year and without a doubt feel MDC deserves respect for all they do for the clients and their families. People like our legislators need to go there and check it out and talk to the clients and staff before making huge a decision about their life.

Sincerely,

Marysue Davis
