One Nation, Under God

Shriners; Helping Kids, having fun

On Saturday, January 9th, Noble Scott Robinson of Malta was installed as Potentate of the Algeria Shrine at the historical Shrine Center in Helena, MT.

"The Shriners" enjoy wide recognition by the characteristic Red Fez they wear as their badge of distinction, adding their pageantry and color to many, if not most community affairs, parades, and activities.

Through the generosity of the members of their individual communities the Shriners maintain the twenty-two well known Shriners' Hospitals for Children.

Shrine Hospitals are known as the leaders in research for limb prostheses, burn care, and surgical techniques.

At Shrine Hospitals children from across North America receive the finest, most up to date care for burns, orthopedic conditions, spinal cord injuries and deformities, and cleft lip and palate. All without any charge or fee whatsoever.

As Potentate, Noble Robinson will lead the Nobles (the term Shriners use for members) of Algeria Shrine; the oldest (est. 1888), and largest (some eight hundred Nobles) of the three Shrine Centers in Montana.

Robinson will represent Algeria Shrine as well as Montana as he travels throughout North America for the next twelve months, as part of the team of leaders which manages the Shrine organization and the Shrine Hospital system; the largest philanthropy in the world.

In its' one hundred and twenty eight years of history Robinson is the third Noble from Malta to serve as Potentate.
