Family Matters honors long term Board Members

Board President, Dan Sisco released the yearend financial reports for Family Matters, Inc. at their annual meeting this past week. Sisco noted he was pleased with the store's performance and noted a strong Bal-ance Sheet as well as Profit and Loss.

The community owned store has over 160 individual shareholders who committed funds to start and open the store in 2000. Legally structured as a Montana C-Corporation, Family Matter is governed by a Board of Directors who hires and supervises management. Avery Sorensen was hired as store Manager in 2012 and in that role oversees a staff of 8 and with the guidance of the Board, controls all aspects of inventory and asset management.

Sorensen thanked the employees (all who attended the meeting) and the community for their continued support of the store. Several new inventory items were showcased; including a new jewelry line Made IN Montana. She also announced Ilene Robinson as the new Assistant Manager.

General business at the annual meeting included election of new board member Ashley Stuart. Leonard Leader was honored for his dedication to Family Matters having served on the Board since before the fire that severely damaged the facility and business in 2010. Leader commented that he "enjoyed both the good and bad during that timeframe and is pleased with the stores progress." Several staff members asked Leader to continue his store visits because they will miss his special humor and advice.
