Head Start Openings

Malta Head Start has openings for the 2016-17 school year for children who are three-years-old by September 10, 2016 as well as four-year-olds. Enrollment is limited! Please stop at the Head Start office located at 164 S. 10th St. W. or call 654-2005 with any questions.

P.E.O Spring Salad

4-27. The Malta P.E.O. Chapter AK will be hosting their 12th Annual Spring Salad Luncheon which celebrates Administrative Assistant’s Day on Wednesday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets, which are $7, may be purchased from members or at the door.

Malta Community Blood Drive

4-27. On Wednesday, April 27, there will be a Malta Community Blood Drive at Malta Lutheran Church from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. To schedule your appointment, please visit http://www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: “malta” or call the American Red Cross at 1-800-695-7258.

Meal and a movie with Lindeen

4-27. On Wednesday, April 27, State of Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance Monica J. Lindeen will screen a made-in-Montana documentary about investment fraud at the GN Lodge Room from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The movie is to help protect Montanans against investor fraud. The event will include a complimentary meal for attendees and includes a question and answer session.

Kiwanis and Key Club Dinner

4-28. Attention Kiwanis members and Key Club parents: Malta Key Club will be holding a potluck dinner and installation of their new officers on Thursday, April 28, 6 p.m. at MHS cafeteria. Support Key Club and attend the potluck and installation.

Malta Women’s Club

4-28. The Malta Women’s Club is having its Annual Card Marathon at the Senior Center on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Little Rockies Recreation Network Meeting

4-30. The Little Rockies Recreation Network will be having another meeting this Saturday, April 30 starting at 2 p.m. at the Mission in Zortman. One of the things we will be going over is the final map of the trail before we take it to the BLM. Everyone is encouraged to attend this meeting. We will also have a Board Member only meeting that will start at 1 p.m.

Kiwanis Meeting

5-3. Malta Kiwanis will meet on Tuesday, May 3 at 6 p.m. at Westside Cafe. Malta Chamber of Commerce president Travis Rhoads will discuss various chamber events including the new skate park. We also need to plan for concessions at the June 4 car show. New members always welcome.

Malta Ladies Golf League

5-4. The Malta Ladies Golf League is holding their first meeting of the spring at the Tin Cup on Wednesday, May 4 starting at 6 p.m.

American Legion rescheduled

5-5. The Malta American Legion Auxiliary regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 5 has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 12 at 5 p.m.

Healthy Choices Town Hall Meeting

5-5. The Phillips County Coalition for Healthy Choices is hosting a meeting at the Malta High School Auditorium on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. with guest speaker Billy Reamer, MS CHES Prevention Program Manager with the state of Montana. See the ad on page 3B of this week’s PCN.

Wool Pool

5-7. The Hi-Line Wool Pool will be collecting wool on May 7, 2016 from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Malta City Shop, located south of Malta. Questions about delivery or preparation requirements, please contact Marko Manoukian, Phillips County Extension Agent at 406-654-2543 prior to May 5, 2016. All new producers are welcome.

Parks and Rec Meeting

5-9. On Monday, May 9, the Malta City Park and Rec Board will hold their monthly meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
