One Nation, Under God

Loring NEws for the week of June 22, 2016

Our prayers and sympathy are with the folks of Orlando, Fla., after the horrendous shooting that happened there last week. Also our own state has had some difficult weather events this month that has left the people in its wake in dire straits. So far we along the Canadian border have escaped the wrath!

Jim Stordahl, of Great Falls, visited Tom and Dixie Stordahl for a couple of days. It was a very nice time for Tom since his brother hasn’t been here for a few years. We celebrated 46 years of wedded bliss and Tom’s 68th birthday!

I hope everyone had a nice relaxing Fathers’ Day! The wind was so strong couldn’t do much kite flying!

Jonnae and Jim Slade and Kellen were up from Billings visiting Pete and Carol Lumsden and Bud and Beth Slade for Father’s Day! Amus and Everette Blunt spent the night on Friday with Auntie Jody with a cousin sleepover and had a great time. Carol Lumsden took them to the museum and then came over for the Wine and Dino celebration.

The Wine and Dino celebration at the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum turned out wonderfully! Lots of guests, food, and laughter!

The Flycatcher who built a nest on the deck has newly hatched babies which keep her busy catching moths for them. I think there are four babies and one egg that hasn’t hatched yet. She flies in and out so often that sometimes I forget she’s there and disturb her!

Also our killdeer has hatched her egg and has a tiny fuzzball running around here! So darling! Does anyone know what the purple flowers growing on the north sides of the hills on the way to Malta are? The purple, sweet clover yellow and blue flax are beautiful on God’s palette!

Happy Summer Solstice on the 21!

No church at the Loring Lutheran on June 29 or July 3.
