One Nation, Under God

Mark Daniel Slade

Mark Daniel Slade, age 31, devoted husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He chose to leave this world on angel's wings on Friday, July 8, 2016.

He was born on February 24, 1985 to Bud and Beth Slade in Havre, Mont. Mark was raised in Malta, Mont., where he attended elementary and high school. Mark could be found at a very early age fishing with his friends Maxie in the morning and golfing with George in the afternoon. Mark treasured all his friends young and old.

He attended Miles Community College on a golf scholarship and then went on to finish his degree at Northern Montana College in Havre in Agriculture. Mark married his high school sweetheart Melanie Green on June 23, 2007. Mark and Melanie played in golf tournaments together from one end of Montana to the other. They loved their trips to the Phoenix Open in Arizona. Mya Frances Slade joined the family on November 17, 2011. Mark named Mya after a pro basketball player and his Grandma Slade.

Mark loved being daddy to his princess, Mya and getting her to daycare, swim lessons, tee-ball, gymnastics training and dance classes. He really wanted Mya to be a pro golfer, but Mya preferred to be his chauffeur on the golf course. Mark's favorite activity was taking Mya to the fair and circus. Their trip to Disneyland in 2015 to meet the princesses with Mya was his best ever. Mark also loved his special furry dog friends Ada and Sadie Slade. Mark knew they were the most spoiled dogs on earth. Mark loved having Mya and the dogs take part in parades and costume contests of which they won many first place ribbons.

Mark worked for Hoven Equipment for eight years as a Parts Manager in Great Falls. He enjoyed visiting with Ag customers from across Montana. Mark was an avid golfer and was so proud of his first hole in one and was over the moon with his second one. Mark's adventures included coyote chasing on snowmobiles, elk hunting, ice fishing for walleye on Fort Peck with his brother, dad and friends. He also bagged a trophy mountain lion with his cousin Jody.

Mark was known and loved by 13 nieces and nephews as Uncle Maaak. Mark will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife Melanie and daughter Mya and his dogs Ada and Sadie Slade. His parents Bud and Beth Slade of Malta, Mont., a brother Jim (Jonnae) Slade and nephew Kellen of Billings, Mont., Grand-mother Frances Slade of Malta, Mont. Mother-in-law Jeanie Green, brother and sister-in-laws Dale (Tracy) Green of Prior Lake Minnesota, Sarina (Warren) Venable of Miles City, Mont., Dallas (Ashley) Green of Whitewater, Mont., Marisa (Zach) Wahl of Glendive, Mont., nieces and nephews Kailyn, Malaya, Paycen Green; Ashley, Jayden, Kyler, Warren Venable; Sommer and Rory Green and Madison, Teagan, and Kyra Wahl.
