Plant cropland and perennial vegetation /technical, financial assistance

There is technical and possible financial assistance available to plant cropland to perennial vegetation. If you are interested please stop by or contact the Malta Natural Resources Conservation Service office at 654 1334 by October 31.

Merchants Christmas Scrip

The Malta Chamber of Commerce Christmas Scrip program will kick off on Thursday, October 27 with the Parade of Lights. Merchants who want to be involved in the program this year need to have their Chamber dues paid and scrip fees paid by Friday, October 14. For more information contact Don Nevrivy at 654-2582.

Westside/Kid Curry Food Drive

October. Westside/Kid Curry Casino’s accepting non-perishable food items for the Food Bank the month of October with $5/5 machine play. Sign up to win a 2017 Marion Hills Golf Course single membership or a Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Drawing held November 1.

Story Time Canceled

10-12. There will not be a Story Time on Wednesday, October 12. We will resume the following week at the PC Library.

VFW Auxiliary Meeting

10-12. The VFW Auxiliary regular monthly meeting will be on Wednesday, October 12 at 6 p.m. at the Malta VFW Club.

Soil Workshop in Harlem

10-12. Come listen to Marlon Winger, a NRCS Specialist on Wednesday, October 12, at 9 a.m. in Harlem City Hall to learn new management concepts that will make your soil work for you!

P.C. Historical Society Meeting

10-12. The Phillips County Historical Society will be meeting Wednesday, October 12, starting at 6:30 p.m. the Phillips County Museum. Everyone welcome!

Free Let’s Control It Training

10-12. There will be a free Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service training Wednesday, October 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the lower level of the Phillips County Coalition for Healthy Choices Building at 101 S. 7th St West. Registration required; call 654-2378.

Book Discussion

10-13. The Book Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, October 13, at 7 p.m. to visit about the book, “Runaway” by Mary Clearman Blew. There are still some copies available at the library for anyone who would like to join us.

Genealogy Workshop

Walleyes Meeting

10-13. Malta Chapter Walleyes Unlimited will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, October 13, 2016, 7 p.m. at Stretch’s. They will hear from Steve Dalby from FWP and Biologist Cody Nagel about winter fishing and the netting results. There will also have new officer installation at the meeting.

Public Square Rosary

MT Veteran Affairs

10-20 On Thursday, October 20, Judy or Steve, service officers for Montana Veteran Affairs, will be at Malta City Hall from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

MMS/MHS Musical ~ The Reluctant Dragon

Landusky Annual Harvest Fundraiser

11-5. On Saturday, November 5, everyone is invited to the Landusky Harvest Fundraiser. The action starts at 5 p.m. with a free will donation dinner, drawings, auctions, a pie contest and a bake sale. Come join us for a fun filled evening.
