One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for November 9, 2016

The weather stayed nice so the little kids out on Halloween had a good evening to be out and about. It was nice to see almost all the little ones in costume!

On Tuesday, Larry Solberg was presumed upon to be driver and Selma Miller, Polly Solberg and Dora Henry rode to Fort Peck to see the Veterans Memorial and for Selma to see the Dam and spillway, as she had never seen it. We then joined a crowd of near 2,000 at the Glasgow High School to hear Eva Kor, a twin, imprisoned at Auschwitz, tell her story of her life there and the experiments done to them there. It was very interesting and there were High School students bused there in the afternoon from all over northern Montana. She made the Holocaust and it’s horrors more real and her message seemed to be there must always be forgiveness, whatever the wrong, for anyone to go on with their lives.

Polly Solberg and Dora Henry attended the craft show at the City Hall and the Lutheran pie social and bazaar in Malta on Saturday. They also visited at the Nursing Home, seeing Mary Lou Sintler, Mae Walsh, Jean Bridges and Lila Licht. They had a nice visit with Lila as she and Dora have known each other for many years, having been schoolmates.

Polly attended the Lutheran Fall Dinner at Hogeland on Sunday.

We are so happy to have the days warming up in the afternoons so more fall chores can be done. I for one am still hauling leaves away.

By the time you read this the election will be over and listening to people's comments everyone will be glad, however the outcome is. But, hope you all voted.

Birthday greetings to Ryan Lankford and Clayton KillEagle and congratulations on their anniversary go to Milton and Fran Werk.

Growing old is hard work-----the mind say’s “yes” but, the body says, “what the heck are you thinking”.

Have a good one!
