One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for December 28, 2016

Sympathy to the homeless on the streets and all who are hungry. A salute to the Malta Food Bank led by June Cornell for distributing so much food. A salute also to all who donate food to the food bank.

Since I love music so much, the topic is the concerts and programs I attended this December. On December 7, the Community Church held a lovely program with the Siewing Twins participating. Paul D. and Freddie Allery Jr. gave me a ride to Whitewater.

On December 15, Whitewater School had a great concert led by Marion Sanguin. A delicious pie social followed and also a visit with Santa who gave out treats.

On December 18, Whitewater Lutheran Sunday School had a program of the Nativity acted out. A lunch was served, followed by the highlight of the day, a sleigh ride! Two simply beautiful horses named “Beauty and Babes” pulled the sleigh! The horses are owned by Walter Ozark of Saco and they are Norwegian Fjord thoroughbreds. The driver was Jason Beil and Mr. Haynes also, I heard.

The children really enjoyed the sleigh ride in spite of the snow and cold wind (I enjoyed seeing the horses.)

On December 19, Saco School had a fantastic concert, featuring the entire school, kindergarten through twelfth grade. Challise (my granddaughter) sang and it was beautiful! Then, Santa visited the children.

Well, I am going to Billings to spend Christmas with my sister, Janet B. I plan to fly from Glasgow to Billings! (I am scared to fly so wish me luck!)

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Helen
