One Nation, Under God

'Cooking Can be Murder' ...and hilarious

Dear Editor,

It was a dark stormy night, under a clear and starlit sky. I was tired of being tossed around in the salad bowl of life, so I hopped into my little blue car and buzzed over to the Malta High School, where folks were gathering to witness a culminary arts contest.

It seemed that the judge for this cooking contest (Mr. James Casanova) was downright arrogant, malicious, and maniacally rude to the contestants. And last, but not yeast, he delighted in humidifying every single person with whom he came into contact!

So it was not surprising that the feisty master of ceremonies had no choice, but to “take out” the dastardly Casanova.

Once the evil deed was accomplished (death by poisoning), my little blue car and I headed home, still chuckling at Ella Mentry’s innocent but comical assassination of various words from the English language! (You can find three of them in my writing.)

To Mrs. LaBrie and her illustrious cast of characters, thanks for the laughs … on a dark and stormy night.
