A possibility of flash flooding in Little Rockies following July Fire

The recent July Fire brings another concern to the residents and visitors of the Little Rockies, and that is flash flooding. After fires, the soil becomes "hydrophobic" meaning that it can not absorb the moisture and instead it runs off. That occurs at a much lower rate of precipitation than it would normally take to flood. Unfortunately, flash flooding due to burn scars can continue for years afterwards, so this isn't just an issue for the next few months.
