Alena Carol Keller

Alena Carol Keller, 58, of Zortman, Mont., passed away on August 5, 2017, peacefully in her sleep. A beloved and loving wife and mother, and lived in Zortman for the last four years. She had worked at the Phillips County Hospital until she became ill in 2015. She met her husband and soulmate at a Valentine’s Day dance in Monroe, La., on February 14, 1981. They were married on June 6, 1981. With her husband, Alena was able to travel from Louisiana to Germany where she had two of her four children, Samantha and Samual. After returning to Colorado she had two more children Benjamin and Sarah. In 1991, she moved to Fairbanks, AK., where she worked as an RN. No matter where Alena lived she was loved by all and her only thought was service to others. Alena will be missed by her husband, family and by everyone that had a chance to meet her. To know Alena was to love her.

Alena was preceded by her brother David Allen Nelson. Alena leaves behind her loving husband Martin Leslie Keller and four children; Samantha Carol Rhoades, Samual Martin Keller, Benjamin Leslie Keller, and Sarah Lynn Keller. Her parents Hershel Allen Nelson Jr. and Elizabeth Carolyn Holmes, and siblings Anita Kay Nelson, Angela Marie Nelson, Alicia Renae Nelson, Hershel Allen Nelson III, Annette Denise Nelson, and Audry Regiena Nelson along with many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Kirkwood Memorial Chapel in Malta, Mont. at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 12. A viewing will start at 9 a.m. for all who wish to say goodbye. A lunch will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Malta. The church is located 611 S 4th St. East. Following the viewing, a memorial service will start at 10 a.m. After the services are over, family and friends will proceed to the Zortman Cemetery for the burial. Graveside committal will be at approximately 2 p.m.
