NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Phillips County Oil and Gas Company has filed in the above Court and cause a “MOTION FOR ORDER AUTHORIZING DISTRIBUTION OF INTERPLED FUNDS AND QUIETING TITLE TO DISPUTED MINERAL INTEREST” (the “Motion”) in which it lays claim to all funds previously interpled with the office of the clerk of the above court. For further information, the Motion, as filed, may be examined in the office of the clerk of the above Court. Hearing upon the Motion will be held in the courthouse at Malta, Montana, on October 10, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at which time all interested persons may appear and object to the Motion.

The City of Malta will conduct a public hearing August 31, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. in the council chambers of city hall.

The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment concerning the 2017/18 budget and proposed mills. Persons and/or their agent(s) may appear in person or send written comments to Mayor Shyla Jones, PO Box 1300, Malta MT 59538 no later than 10:00 a.m. August 31, 2017. Copies of the preliminary budget will be available for review after August 28, 2017 during regular business hours.

CITY OF MALTA

Notice of Municipal Primary Election

Notice is hereby given that on September 12, 2017 the City of Malta Municipal Primary Election will be held by mail ballot only for the purpose of determining which two candidates’ names for Mayor will appear on the Municipal General Election ballot, November 7, 2017. Five candidates have filed for the City of Malta Mayor position. Only two will proceed to the Municipal General Election. Ward 1 and Ward 2 candidate names will not appear on the Municipal Primary ballot. The Municipal Primary Election will be conducted by mail only, no polls will be open. Ballots will be mailed August 23, 2017 to all City of Malta active voters. Ballots must be received no later than 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Election Office located in the Phillips County Courthouse, 314 South 2nd Avenue West, or mailed to PO Box 360, Malta, Montana 59538. If you have questions regarding your voting status, or questions about this election, please call the Elections Office at 654-2423.

BIG FLAT ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING DATE SET FOR OCTOBER 14, 2017

Preliminary plans are being made for the Big Flat Electric Cooperative’s 71st Annual Membership Meeting. The date of the meeting will be Saturday, OCTOBER 14, 2017, AT THE MALTA HIGH SCHOOL IN MALTA, COUNTY OF PHILLIPS, AND STATE OF MONTANA.

In accordance with the by-laws, the Board of Directors appointed on July 20, 2017, and have notified the following list of members to serve on the

Nomination Committee:

The Nominating Committee’s delegation on nominations will meet on Wednesday, August 30 at 6:00 p.m. at the Big Flat Electric Cooperative’s Headquarters Building at 333 South 7th Street East, Malta, Montana to nominate members for the election of directors for a three year term from District Three (3) – Loring / Whitewater / Saco Area, District Five (5) – Malta Area, and District Seven (7) – Missouri River Area.

Members may be nominated for Directors by petition of any fifteen (15) or more members. Nominations made by petition, received at the Cooperative’s Office at least fifteen (15) days prior to the annual meeting, shall be included on the Official Ballot. Later nominations by petition shall be treated as nomination from the floor.
