One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for October 11, 2017

We are all horrified by the terrible massacre in Las Vegas. Everyone — including the NRA — should see the great need for gun control! The question is, how could all of those guns possibly get in a hotel without anyone noticing? It is horrible.

Back in Montana, hunting season has begun. Hunters, please be careful with guns! The life you save may be your own.

Sympathy to the family of Dorothy Salveson.

Amelia Sanguins and Clint Schaaf were married on Friday, September 29. The marriage took place at Sanguins’ old barn on the grandpa’s ranch near Turner, Mont. Ree Simonson, Margie Olsen, Sally Austin and I all attended. Others from Whitewater were also at the reception at the Milk River Pavilion in Malta. A lovely cake was served and Chris Pippin was the music DJ. Congratulations to the newlyweds.

Mariam Sanguins (mother of the bride) is the music teacher at Whitewater School. Rose (also a teacher) is her sister. Their mother was also at the wedding to see her granddaughter wed.

Again, new students at Whitewater School are Katie and Lucas Kirk and Jordon and Lucas Pewitt. Welcome to all.

The Big Sky Northeast Arts Concert was great. It featured Twin girls who played violins, guitars and they both sang! Jean Green, Lu Bessel and I went to the concert.

We finally got a much-needed rain and Malta and other place got snow. Thank God! The parched earth just soaked up the rain like a sponge.

Take care,

Helen
