Irma Georgen Robinson

SACO, MT - Irma Georgen Robinson, 90, died Friday, November 3, 2017, at Phillips County Hospital in Malta, Mont.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, November 9 at the Malta Cemetery. In case of inclement weather, the services will be at the funeral home. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

Irma was born October 5, 1927 in Buffalo, Wyo., the daughter of Henry and Violet (Roe) Georgen. Irma’s father was killed when she was an infant. Irma’s younger years were spent on the family homestead near Buffalo, Wyo., with her grandparents. The family later moved to the Spear Ranch, where her mother cooked and raised her children for several years. She boarded in Sheridan, Wyo., with an aunt while attending high school. After high school she attended Eastern Montana College and received her teaching certificate. Irma taught school in Lame Deer and at the Davis Creek School near Kirby, Mont.

Irma married Colgate Robinson on Aug. 19, 1950 in Lame Deer, Mont. They worked for the John Scott Ranch until moving to the Henson Ranch near Zortman, Mont., in 1958. During this time their only child, Stuart Colgate, was born. In 1965 the family moved to the Blue Ranch near Cree Crossing on the Milk River. Irma continued to live her life on the family ranch until her passing.

Irma worked outdoors most of her life helping Colgate and Stuart work on the ranch. Her love of horses and the western way of life was a passion of Irma’s. She loved all animals and enjoyed taking care of them. She enjoyed reading and keeping up on current affairs.

The joy of her life was her two grandsons, Cole and Reid. Irma was known for her kind and gentle heart and quiet spirit.

Irma is survived by her son Stuart Robinson (Ilene) and her grandsons Cole and Reid Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband Colgate, her parents and her brothers.
