Whitewater fares well at Academic Olympics

These Whitewater High School students competed in the Academic Olympics in Glasgow on March 14. (L-to-R) Beau Simonson, top freshman student; Trace Simonson, two places, math and social studies; Trey Simanton, Luke Lawless, placed in English; Bella Lawless. As a team they took second in the oral round, competing in four rounds. They beat Saco, Opheim, and Lustre and then lost to Medicine Lake.

Academic Olympics is a day of testing the top students in a school. They have four tests of 100 questions in math, English, science, and social studies. Then there's an oral round of mixed topic questions. The teams have a bracket, one loss and you're out.
