Mackey, Pippin announced as scholarship winners

The Montana University System has announced that Malta High School's Isabella Mackey, Chandler Pippin of Saco High School, have been offered the Montana University System Honor Scholarship.

The MUS Honor Scholarship is a renewable scholarship offered by the Montana Board of Regents that waives undergraduate tuition for up to 8 semesters at any campus of the Montana University System or Dawson, Flathead Valley, or Miles community colleges (average value of $18,000).

“Awarding these scholarships is such an honor,” Board Chair Albrecht said. “I am excited to watch these students continue to succeed over the coming years as MUS students.”

Students offered this scholarship must be graduates of an accredited Montana high school with a minimum grade point average of 3.4 at the end of their 7th semester in high school, take either the ACT or SAT standardized test, meet college rigorous core requirements, and attend an eligible campus.

“It was a Board priority to ensure these scholarships were available to students,” Commissioner Christian said. “Investing in student education is the greatest thing we can do for Montana.”

A total of 239 scholarships were offered statewide.
