CHEAT DAY !!!!

So I had a cheat day.

But I did not post that to my keto support group’s page on social media. That is one way to easily get attacked. If I know one thing about the internet, it’s that people are more prone to attack your joy if it’s something they don’t agree with.

You can respond to this by writing a letter to the editor if you don’t agree but just know that I had a cheat day.

That cheat day was Christmas. I ate carbs all day long. Yams, buns, peaches and cream pie; and I started the day off with not one, not two, but three Krispy Kreme Donuts.

Since the first week of November, Susan and I have been on the low-carb, high-fat Keto Diet, and we have been seeing some awesome results, while displaying a lot of will power.

So far we have allowed ourselves one cheat day a month. Last month we bypassed Thanksgiving, for her company’s annual Christmas Party. We were supposed to have a cheat meal at that party, but I was the only one that really cheated. I did not eat bread, but when they passed around the Creme Brulee, I fought the urge to cheat, but I eventually gave in.

That Creme Brulee was awesome, but I noticed something that had never happened to me, a pure sugar high. I was walking on clouds and it was so bad that I had Susan drive us home because I felt funny.

I didn’t feel that I really took advantage of that cheat day, so I knew that for Christmas, I would stretch the cheat to more than one meal. I did and it was amazing.

I felt really sleepy after cheating because of the sugar and carbs but I have no regrets and it was easy to get back into the groove of the diet the next day. I am currently down 38 pounds since attempting to control what and when I eat, and looking forward to being down 38 more pounds.

I will say that our next cheat day, I’m going in. I am going to eat fried chicken, cheeseburger with a bun, and maybe a half of a key lime pie.

The boys have been fighting waves of sickness the last few weeks. We believe that they are getting better thanks to medicine, but it has been a rough start to the winter.
