One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, October25, 2023

Greetings my Loringites from Dixie in Billings. I miss you all, but I’m attempting to fit in here and be pleasant. My address is 4215 Montana Sapphire Drive #107, Billings, MT 59106. It’s the first turn-off after the Shiloh Rd. roundabout on King Ave. going west. The building is called Affinity in Billings. I’m on the ground floor.

Congrats on the marvelous showing at state cross country in Kalispell this week! Shelbi LaBrie achieved her goal and is the champion in Class C. Ava had a personal best time and scored above half of the other girls! Special runners!

Also, congrats on senior night to Paige Wasson, Ava Hanley, and Kendall Scheffelmaer on all of their accomplishments!

Welcome home to Carol Lumsden and Nancy Murdock who have been traveling in France and Switzerland! Carol and Pete Lumsden and Nancy Murdock all stopped to see my new apartment and me on Wednesday! Thank you for taking the time! Saturday Whitney Blunt and the kids stopped in also! It was so nice to see them.

My grandson Brentton and his wife Abby brought my great-grands by to visit too. I think they are sweethearts! Rocco, Brandie, Jeannie and Zoey all popped in during the week.

My sister Debbie has been under the weather, so she has laid low.

I was at the pool the other day and only one other person was using it. I thought to myself, “She sure looks like Jean DePuydt”. So, I asked her what her name was and she replied, “Jean Depuydt.” We had a nice visit. She works at a bank down here.

I also met Marcia Weber who grew up in Malta and worked there for years. She and I went to Happy Hour at the Dilly Dally Pub!

One other person I met is Louie Miller who had the Car Quest management job in Malta. He is very active in the community. I am known as “Dixie, the writer of a column in the newspaper that Louie reads!” I’m honored!

I was listening to the chickadees the other day! Such a cute song they have! Venus is really bright in the mornings too. I missed the eclipse, but hopefully, I’ll see the next one.

Until next time, behave!
