One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, November 22, 2023

Montana’s own Senator Jon Tester is again running for another term. Good luck to him. He lives in Big Sandy, Montana where his family has farmed and ranched for three generations.

Curt Reicholt of Whitewater is a cousin to Senator Tester. The Reicholts lived close to Tester.

Back in Whitewater, the Penguins/North Country Mavericks girls’ volleyball took 3rd in State. Congratulations to all the participants.

Now basketball season begins; practices start now.

North Country attended the funeral of LeRoy Simonson. The church was full, the funeral was huge. A delicious lunch was served. Again, sympathy to the family and friends of LeRoy.

Today is beautiful here in Whitewater, sunny and there is no wind. It is almost Thanksgiving. We should all be thankful for our blessings.

Here are some things we seniors are thankful for cool, clear water indoors.

Thankfully we don’t have to pump water. Better yet, we have indoor plumbing and potties. (I remember going to the outhouse when it was 20 below outside and two feet of snow. No fun).

Also, we are thankful for electricity. Do you remember the Aladdin lamps?

Most of all we should be thankful for food.

Don’t eat too much at Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Helen A.
