One Nation, Under God

Diann Castleberry Hanson (September 23, 1946 - November 25, 2023)

Diann Castleberry Hanson, 77 years old, free from the physical ales of this world with family by her side, went to be with our LORD on Saturday, November 25, 2023. She was born in Glasgow, Mont. to Faxton and June Castleberry on September 23, 1946.

She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1964. Diann attended one year of college at Eastern Montana College. Through a classmate, Ron's sister, she met Ron Hanson and six months later on July 18, 1965, they were married. This marriage lasted 57+ years and counting. To this union, two children Ronald Dean Hanson and Ronda (Doug) Simanton were born.

While pregnant with Dean, Diann developed type 1 diabetes and forever became an advocate for diabetic education and control for youth and adults alike.

Throughout all of this, Diann loved the ranch lifestyle with gardens and animals, and watching the kids develop. When Ronda started school, Diann took a job at First Security Bank in Malta. She became proficient in the computer aspects of banking.

After seventeen years of working at First Security Bank, she was offered a job in Kennewick, Washington, where a new bank was opening, and was offered the job of setting up the computer department. Kids out of school and a risk taker, she took the job. After seven years the computer department of the bank moved to Portland, Oregon. With grandkids arriving at home, she decided to return to Malta and become a full-time Grandma.

Needing something else to do she became a licensed massage therapist and opened a very successful practice in Malta. She still gets compliments from past clients for her strong hands and magic fingers. Diann touched many lives through her diabetic experiences, leading bible study groups, coffee groups, and love of quilting which she was very good at. She loved to visit, her faith was endless, and she loved to share with others.

Diann was preceded in death by her parents Faxton and June Castleberry, Father and mother-in-law Everett and Dorothy Hanson, brother-in-law, Boyd Hanson, sister-in-law, Georgene Robison, sister-in-law Jackie Castleberry.

She is survived by her husband Ron Hanson of Malta, and children Ronald Dean Hanson of Billings and Ronda (Doug) Simanton of Malta. Her brother Dave Castleberry of Glasgow, sister Jan (Keith) Ivers of Libby, grandchildren Guy (Carli) Simanton of Whitewater, Gal (Jake) Phillips of Havre, Nolan (Mercedes) Simanton of Malta, Trey (Aidan) Simanton of Malta, Jon Hanson, Trinitie Hanson, Tyler Reicher all of Billings. Ten great-grandchildren Neveah, De'Shana, Adalee (Gal), Traxton and Gray (Guy), Siva and Soenix (Nolan), Skylan and Silvre (Trey), and Golda (Trinitie).

Her first love was her faith and her second was her family, whenever we gathered her world would light up.
