M-ettes Beat Lady Wolves, to Face Poplar, Harlem

The Malta M-ettes won their lone game of the week as they traveled to Wolf Point last Friday, January 12, in weather that reached -43° with wind chill.

The M-ettes won the game 47-26. They were scheduled to host the Fergus Golden Eagles on Saturday, January 13, but the game was postponed until Tuesday, January 23, due to the dangerous cold temperatures.

The M-ettes are scheduled to host the Harlem LadyCats on Thursday, January 18. C-Squad is scheduled to start at 3 p.m., JV will play at 4:30 p.m., and Varsity is set to play at 6 p.m.

The M-ettes will travel to Poplar on Friday, January 19, to play the Lady Indians. C-Squad will play at 3 p.m., followed by JV at 4:30 p.m., and Varsity will play at 6 p.m.

In the team's victory over Wolf Point, Neva Jacobson led the charge with 11 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Denvyr Tuss had a 10 point, 15 rebound double-double. Elly Anderson had 10 points, three assists, and two steals. Kelbie Nelson had eight points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Giona Lamb had two points and six rebounds. Addison Ulrich had two points. Emree Stuart had two points and three steals. Tailynn Wilke had two points. Kendall Clausen had three blocks.

Malta made 16-of-50 (32%) two-point field goal attempts. Wolf Point made 10-of-39 attempts. Malta was 3-of-8 (37.5%) from three point range. Wolf Point was 1-of-25 (4%) from three point range.

Wolf Point led in free throw percentage, making 4-of-7 attempts (42.9%), while Malta was 6-of-15 (40%).

Malta scored 16 points in transition and 20 points off of Wolf Point's 17 turnovers. Malta outscored Wolf Point in the paint 28-to-18.

The M-ettes led wire-to-wire, leading by as much as 25 points. Malta outscored the Lady Wolves 11-6 in the first quarter, 18-4 in the second quarter, and 11-7 in the third quarter. Wolf Point outscored Malta 9-7 in the fourth quarter.
