Dodson Teams Fight Hard With Low Numbers

The Dodson Lady Coyotes fell in their three games last week.

The team which once had nine players was down to six in their losses to Box Elder, Lustre, and Frazer.

In their 51-28 loss to the Box Elder Lady Bears, in Box Elder last Thursday, February 1, Jazlyn KillEagle led the charge with an 11 point, 10 rebound double-double.

Kyra Campbell had seven points, 13 rebounds and five pass deflections. Lily Turnsplenty had six points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Kashton Siers had two points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Bentlie Ereaux had two points (1/1 from the field) and two rebounds.

In the Lady Coyotes' 68-21 loss to Lustre in Dodson on Friday, February 2, KillEagle led Dodson with 11 points. Siers had seven points and Kyra Campbell had three points.

The Lady Coyotes had their highest offensive point toal of the week in their 76-40 loss to Frazer on Saturday, February 3.

KillEagle led Dodson with 23 points, Turnsplenty had nine points, and Siers had eight points.

The offense struggled to score in the first quarter and were outscored 14-2. The team was outscored 23-15 in the second and both teams scored 16 in the third quarter. Frazer kept their foot on the gas in the fourth quarter, outpacing Dodson 23-7.

The Lady Coyotes will see the Box Elder Lady Bears again on Friday, February 9, in Dodson. They will then travel to Circle to take on the Circle Lady Wildcats in their final game of the regular season.

Coyotes

The Dodson Coyotes were short handed in their three games last week, but battled until the last whistle in a high scoring matchup with Frazer on Saturday, February 3.

The Coyotes fell 50-47 to Box Elder's JV team on Thursday, February 1, in Box Elder. They lost 79-33 to the Lustre Lions on Friday, February 2, in Dodson.

Despite only playing a majority of their game against Frazer with only five athletes, due to a double technical foul given to players from each team, Dodson kept things close in their final game of the week and lost 75-68 in the Coyote Den.

Junior Stiffarm scored 37 points for Dodson against Frazer. Sebastian Best had 11 points. Frank Sonny Cole had nine points. Lance KillEagle had six points and Brayden Jones had four points.

Stiffarm also led Dodson in their loss to Lustre. He had 11 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Cole had eight points and two rebounds. Best had six points. Mason Lonebear had five points, seven rebounds, and three assists. KillEagle had three points and four rebounds.

The Coyotes led by as much as seven points in their loss to Box Elder's JV team. The Bears caught up to Dodson in the third quarter and rode the momentum to a close 50-47 win over the Coyotes.

Stiffarm had a 21 point, 17 rebound double-double as well as five steals and four assists. LoneBear had 11 points, four rebounds, and two steals. KillEagle had 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Best had five points, 10 rebounds, and four steals.

The Coyotes will see the Box Elder Bears' JV team again on Friday, February 9, in Dodson. They will then travel to Circle to take on the Circle Wildcats in their final game of the regular season.
