One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, March 13, 2024

Congratulations to the North Country Lady Mavericks on their second state championship in Class C Basketball! What awesome athletes those girls are! The tourney was in Great Falls.

The Class B tournament was in Billings. Many people from Phillips County were down to take in the games. Malta had really close games and the girls played well.

Bring on the track season!

Brandie Stordahl and Debbie Richau were lunch guests of Dixie Stordahl to celebrate Spring Forward Day! The weather has been really nice this week! Highs in the mid-fifties, slight breeze, except one day the gusts were 55.

I just got the list of District All conference players. Paige Wasson, Teagan Erickson and Shelbi LaBrie were listed for offense and defense teams! Kendall Scheffelmaer and BaiLee McColly were also on the Offensive teams. Congratulations, Ladies!

I feel like it’s getting harder to write this column since I don’t live in Loring anymore.

The new moon is happening right now. Just a heads up, the next new moon will be a total solar eclipse happening on April 8! And just one more tidbit about the solar system. Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox. So, the equinox is on March 19, and the next full moon is on the 25th, so Easter is on March 31, the next Sunday. I’ve always been fascinated by the lunar activities and it’s interesting that Easter relies on the moon to say when it is.

See you next time!
