One Nation, Under God

House 28 Candidate Introduction

Voters of House District 28,

I would like to introduce myself to you. I’m a third generation Montana farmer, writer, and a graduate of Blue Sky High. My family and I live in Inverness and farm on the border. I don’t want to waste your time with my biography, so please go to wicks4freedom.org for my full bio.

I am a conservative constitutional, pro-gun, pro-life, anti-woke Republican that believes that “keeping Helena in Helena” is best for Montana. I am the candidate that will fight hardest for your God given rights. If you are looking for someone that won’t go with the flow and will look out for rural Montana, I’m your candidate.

We recently saw what happens when government takes more power than our founders ever intended. Some of us were forced to take shots we didn’t want, and we weren’t allowed to gather and worship as guaranteed by our Constitution. We were even censored on social media with the government’s blessing We can’t let that happen again! I will fight for your rights in Helena tooth and nail.

The biggest threat I see to HD28 is a physical threat. We need to get funding for the St. Maries irrigation project! This project is way overdue for repairs, and as we saw in 2020, when the system collapsed and failed. We were lucky and repairs brought it back online, but the next failure could happen at any time, cutting off water from drinking water systems, irrigators, and endangering critical wildlife habitat The longer we wait, the closer to catastrophe our water systems get.

I see a lot of opportunity on the East end of HD28. North of Wolf Point a Canadian Company is proving the feasibility of a 30 mega-watt geo-thermal generation system. The same formations they are drilling into exist on this side of the border and hopefully mean great things for Valley and Phillips Counties. Not only does this geo-thermal system mean sustainable RELIABLE power, it could be able to provide low cost heat to hospitals and schools. A by-product will be low cost heat for Green houses, aquaculture, and recreation. My job is to make sure that the legislation needed so this can happen is passed and ready before its needed.

In Helena, my greatest concern is protecting our rights, and way of life, followed closely by the St. Maries project. I’m also very concerned with the disconnect between land owners and Fish and Game. They need to understand that their first priority is wildlife, habitat, and relationships with private land owners, not selling licenses.

Access to health care in rural Montana, and care for our seniors is also a priority. I will be the first to say our system is failing in rural Montana. Long wait times between appointments, and longer distances to travel for those appointments are not Okay!

I understand that many people in Valley, and Phillips County are worried about voting for someone that lives at the far end of the HD-28, but I will assure you that I intend to represent the district from one end to the other. One of my pet peeves are legislators that are elected and are never seen again!

When you cast your vote for me, you are casting it for a man that is not interested in personal gain for me or my family and the only theft I plan is stealing good ideas. I have a gift for looking at things and seeing how there may be unintended consequences. I won’t be voting for bills just because they have nice sounding names, but I will fight for rural Montana like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s Ark!

Please go to my website http://www.wicks4freedom.org and learn more about me, or call 406-390-3575. I hope you will cast your ballot for the best Republican candidate on the ticket, Mark L Wicks this coming June.

Sincerely

Mark L Wicks
