SaintLouis Signs To Play At DSU

Last Wednesday, April 10, Malta senior Bow SaintLouis signed his letter of intent to continue his football career at Dickinson State University (DSU) in North Dakota next fall.

SaintLouis, the son of Kari and Felix SaintLouis was surrounded by students of Malta High School including his Malta Mustang football teammates, as well as his family, and Malta Head Coach Nick Oxarart.

"To play college football is quite an honor and there is a very small percentage of people that get that opportunity," Coach Oxarart said as a forward to Saint Louis signing the letter. "We are excited for Malta Mustang football to have Bow sign with Dickinson State. They are a great program."

In joining DSU, he will be reunited with former Mustang teammate Eli Hanson, who finished his redshirt year.

SaintLouis was a two-way starter his senior season at Malta and earned First Team All-Conference honors as an offensive lineman and Second Team honors as a defensive lineman.

SaintLouis said that there are so many reasons why he selected DSU to continue his education and football career.

"I had a lot of fun at their team camp this past summer," SaintLouis said. "I took a couple of trips down there and saw the chemistry between the players and on my official visit, I saw that the coaches really look out for their players in more ways than one. They look out for their players in the classrooms, they look out for their players as far as making sure that their bodies are alright in ways that I haven't seen in other programs."

He compared it to conversations that he has had with friends in other collegiate football programs.

"I have seen some of them get hurt or put down," SaintLouis said. "Then I saw how genuine the Dickinson coaches are."

SaintLouis shared what he thought of the town of Dickinson.

"It was a pretty complete town," he said. "They have their own little strip malls everywhere. They have fishing spots, a river right under the city. I haven't seen a big hospital in a while living in Malta. There are a lot of nice things in the city."

He said that the team offered him a scholarship at the camp.

He also said that things can change, but there wasn't a single person at DSU that he didn't enjoy being around.

SaintLouis has also earned All-State Honors in music at MHS at trumpet. He will study Computer Science at DSU.

SaintLouis will be on DSU's offensive line and he believes the team will start him at his high school position of offensive tackle.

SaintLouis will represent the Mustangs at the 35th Annual Class B Big Sky All-Star Football Game on Saturday, June 8, at Lockwood High School in Billings.
