Class C Track: Dodson Third in Glasgow

The Saco Panthers and Lady Panthers competed at the Sidney Invitational last Saturday, April 20, while the Dodson Coyotes and Lady Coyotes competed at Hinsdale's Jean Dreikosen Memorial (JDM) in Glasgow.

Dodson

The Dodson teams fared well at the JDM. The Coyotes were third out of seven teams with 55 points and the Lady Coyotes were fifth out of seven women's teams with 32 points.

The boys short relay consisting of freshmen Gunnar Cilz, Forrest Bessman, and sophomores Lance KillEagle and Donovan Posey took first place with a time of 52.5 seconds.

Posey also won the 1600 with a time of 5:42.2. He was second in the 800 with a time of 2:28.8 and third in the 400 with a personal best of 1:03.34.

KillEagle was second in the 1600 with a PR of 5:36.2. He was also third in the 3200 with a PR of 12:28.3 and third in the 800 with a time of 2:36.1.

Cilz was sixth in long jump after clearing 15-11. He was also seventh in the 200 with a PR of 28.3 and ninth in the 100 with a time of 13.5.

Bessman saw an improvement in all three of his events, setting a PR of 30-7.25 in shot put, a PR of 86-2 in discus, and a PR of 58-5 in javelin.

The Lady Coyotes were led by Amara Cochran, who took second place in shot put with a PR of 30-2.25. Cochran was fifth in discus with a throw of 74-4. She also had a throw of 58-7 in javelin.

The short relay consisting of eighth-grader Bentlie Ereaux, freshman Precious Stiffarm, eighth-grader Kaiya Doney, and freshman Baylee Johnson took second place with a time of 1:05.4.

Freshman Baylee Johnson took third place in the 400 with a PR of 1:19.4 and fourth in the 800 with a PR of 3:11.8.

Ereaux was fourth in the 400 with a PR of 1:22.9.

Stiffarm had a PR of 61-1 in discus and was eighth. Stiffarm also had a throw of 21-9.75 in shot put and a PR of 64-1 in javelin.

Saco

The Saco teams were a little short handed in their outing at the Sidney Invitational but both teams put up points. The Lady Panthers were fourteenth out of eighteen womens' teams with seven points and the Panthers were sixteenth out of eighteen men's teams with six points.

Freshman Emerson Downing was the leader amongst Saco athletes. She had a third place finish in pole vault by clearing 8-6. E. Downing was also sixth in javelin with a throw of 95-4 and seventh in the 300 hurdles with a time of 54.03.

Sophomore Ireland Mears had times of 15.56 in the 100, 32.35 in the 200, and 1:03.70 in the 300 hurdles.

Junior Blaine Downing led the Panthers with a third-place finish in pole vault by clearing 12-0. He was also ninth in the 100 with a time of 11.98 and had a throw of 120-8 in javelin.

Sophomore Laytin Erickson was tenth in pole vault after clearing 9-6.

Junior Carter Pippin left a mark of 49-0 in discus and 24-2 in shot put.

Freshman Jacob Brown set a new PR of 58.24 in the 400, a time of 27.53 in the 200, and he left a mark at 110-1 in javelin.
