New Opencut Mining Operation

As per the MT Department of Environmental Quality Opencut Division this notice is to inform the public of a proposed new sand and gravel mine. This site now known as

The L & T Anderson Pit

is located in Section(s) 26 & 35 T31N, R30E, Phillips County and includes 66 acres.

This site will be used for various area projects. Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. will be operating this site for the removal sand and gravel. A portable crushing spread will be moved on and off site as needed and may be operated 10 days on 4 days off 15 hours per day, however, if the projects require it may operate 24 hours per day. A portable Hot Mix Asphalt plant may be moved on and off site as needed and may operate 6 days per week 15 hours per day.

NOTICE OF FEDERAL PRIMARY ELECTION

Notice is hereby given that in Phillips County, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, a Federal Primary nominating election will be held at the Phillips County Courthouse for the purpose of nominating federal, state and county candidates for the November 5, 2024, general election ballot.

This election will be conducted by polling place. The polls will be open on election day, June 4, 2024, at 7:00 a.m., and continue to be open until 8:00 p.m. All active and inactive electors of Phillips County are entitled to vote in the election. Absentee ballots were mailed on Friday, May 10, 2024, to only active, registered voters signed up for the absentee list.

Invitation for Bids

The Fort Belknap Indian Community (FBIC) is seeking bids for the reconstruction of one sweat house lodge. Location is on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. Bids will be accepted until May 10, 2024. Liability Insurance, TERO Compliance are required.

This IFB does not constitute a contract for services performed or to be performed. Following the selection of the successful consultant, the FBIC and contractor will negotiate a contract including full scope of services. The project scope of work can be requested via email from Amy Stewart, Assistant Family Advocacy Coordinator, at [email protected] or 406-353-8361.

INVITATION TO BIDDERS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Phillips County, Montana, will receive sealed written bids at their office in the Phillips County Courthouse, 314 S 2nd Ave. W, Malta, Montana 59538 until 5 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024 subject to section 7-5-2301, MCA, for the crushing and stockpiling of 1’’ crushed pit run aggregate, to be crushed at three or more different locations. Contractor shall crush all material that is 10 inches or less in diameter into aggregate. Phillips County will utilize the selected crusher to serve as an on-call gravel crusher for 5-years for related activities associated with on-site gravel crushing at Phillips County pits. Initial bid for first year with negotiated price each year after agreed on by both parties. After this hour, no bids will be accepted.

Each bid must be signed and submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Board of County Commissioners, Box 360, Malta, Montana 59538. The envelope shall be plainly marked on the outside as a BID for on-call gravel crushing, and the envelope must bear on the outside the bidder’s name and address. If the bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid must be enclosed in a separate envelope addressed to the Board of County Commissioners. Bids by telephone, fax or telecommunications will not be accepted. Bids will be opened Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 2 pm in the County Commissioner’s office.

Pit locations will be in Phillips County. Further information can be obtained on the pit locations by calling the Phillips County Board of Commissioners, telephone 406-654-2429.

The royalty, stripping of pit prior to crushing and reclamation will be taken care of by the county. Some minor stripping may have to be done by contractor. Payment will be made within 2 weeks after completion of each setup.

The successful bidder will be required to comply with Montana’s contractor’s registration laws, Section 39-9-201, et seq., MCA.

The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid in whole or in part, to waive any defect or informality in any bid therein, to postpone the award of the contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsible bid which is in the best interest of Phillips County.
