    The Malta Dirt Daubers Garden Club sponsored a no host dinner and program on “Flower Arranging” on Monday, March 6th. Guest speakers were Mary Davis, Master Flower Show Judge and Joyce Hendricks, Accredited Flower Show Judge, both of Billings. There was a short meeting led by club President Kathy Waters and Toni Ziegler introduced the guest speakers following dinner.     For the second year in a row the Malta Masonic Lodge #57 members have donated beef to the Hi-Line Retirement Center and with the help of the Order of Eastern Star (OES) Malta Sacajawea Chapter #37, also served the meal. The three members of Lodge #57 who donated beef this year were: Troy Blunt, Greg Oxarart, and Scott Waters. The beef was then prepared by the chefs at the HLRC and volunteers from both Masons and OES served the meal for dinner on Sunday, February 26th.     Wednesday, February 22 the Veseth Cattle Company of Malta held their 10th annual Bull Sale at the Pavilion. Dale and Janet Veseth wanted to do something special in appreciation to their customers. Veseth Cattle Co. and co-sponsor Lewistown Honda raffled off a new 425cc Honda 4x4 ATV. A second prize of $500 in “Bull Dollars” was awarded and taken off of purchases.     New Depot Roof This third week of October 2016 a crew from Meridian, Idaho replaced the roof of the Malta Depot. Edgar Sanchez is the owner of E&H Roofing and he said it would take about three to four days to replace the roof. “We just did the one in Shelby, Mont., too,” stated Sanchez.     This day and age photographs are taken every second by cell phones, but that wasn't the case in the 1960's. A camera's film still needed to be developed in a dark room or taken to the local drug store or mailed away and in a week or two the photos were mailed back.
