The Phillips County Commissioners held their first meeting of the new year last week in Malta with four items on the day’s agenda. First up was a certificate of survey family exemption on a piece of land located just east of Malta. Last Thursday night, somewhere in between the two channels that showed American Idol, was a channel that premiered a brand new weight loss show. While I used to love the Biggest Loser, I have found myself finally getting annoyed with all the tears and terrible pop songs that come with watching that show. Jim Patterson, the youngest son of Harry Lucas and Virginia Cowan Patterson, was born September 16, 1932 in his mother's original homestead shack near Freewater, Montana on the Big Bend of the Milk River. Winter has shown its claws this week with more snow and cold temperatures all week. Polly Solberg and Dora Henry were in Chinook and Havre on Monday for Polly’s medical appointments.
