    Deputy Jerry R. Welch of the Phillips County Sheriff's Office, (PCSO), recently attended and completed a week of SWAT basic training. Deputy Welch has been a member of the Northeastern SWAT Team for over a year and has functioned as the unit's ground commander.     During Wednesday night’s Malta School Board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the purchase of a new intercom system to be installed at the elementary school. The motion to approve is contingent on the wiring currently in place at the school bieng adequate.     At Monday afternoon’s Phillips County Commissioners Meeting, the Commissioners passed an amendment to extend the lease the Child and Family Services Office in the County Court House and appointed a new Phillips County Museum Board Member.
