Lady Coyotes defeat Chinook JV, fall to 3C foes

The Dodson Lady Coyotes picked up their second win of the season last Monday, January 18 as they defeated the Chinook Lady Sugarbeeters JV Squad 57-43 at the Coyote Den in Dodson. The team then lost their final two games of the week against North Country and Scobey.

The Lady Coyotes were led by Shontelle Talks Different, who scored 22 points. Talks Different had four treys, three of which were made in the fourth quarters.

Kailee Henry had a solid night, scoring 18 points.

Laney Cole and Christina Jaynes each had four points. Kyla Racine had three points. Talyssa Horn had two points.

Dodson was outscored 15-12 in the first quarter, but a strong second quarter led by a seven point outing by Henry put them up 29-24 at halftime.

Both teams scored eight points in the third quarter, making the score 37-32. Talks Different lead a 20 point charge for Dodson, while defensively the team limited the Lady Sugarbeeters to 11.

In their 70-28 loss to the North Country Lady Mavericks last Thursday in Dodson, the team was led by Kailee Henry, who had 17 points but left late in the game due to injury.

Talks Different had four points. Jaynes had three points. Cole had two points. Horn and Shawnee Kill Eagle both had one point a piece.

In their loss to Scobey, the loss of Dodson's starting point guard Henry was felt as the team failed to score. The end score was 44-5.

Jaynes had four points and Tatyana Horn had one point.
