Hitchin' up at her new post

Stephne Erickson took over ownership of Malta's Hitchin' Post from Jamie Ulrich on the first day of September and is happy she did.

"I've had great support from the community," Erickson said. "The customers who came before are continuing to eat here and it is wonderful."

Erickson is a Phillips County native who graduated from Saco High School in 1983. Erickson said she had worked at restaurants throughout both high school and college – both O'Brien's Café and the Sleeping Buffalo Supper Club – and said the best part about diner work, in her mind, is the people she encounters (adding that clean...
