Whitewater names top students: Class of 2017

The Whitewater School District has announced that Kayleigh Cummings is the valedictorian of the Class of 2017.

Serena Sanguins has been named as salutatorian.

Kayleigh is the daughter of Heidi and Darin Cummings of Whitewater. She compiled a grade point average of 3.963 during high school.

Serena is the daughter of Miriam and Terry Sanguins of Whitewater. She compiled a grade point average of 3.362 during high school.

Whitewater's graduation will be held on Friday, May 12 starting at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Rep. Casey Knudsen will be the guest speaker.

Kayleigh plans to attend University of Montana and pursue a degree in Psychology.

Serena plans to attend Flathead Valley Community College to study Cooking.

Kayleigh is a four-year member of the basketball and track and field teams and a three-year member of the volleyball team. She was also active in TSA and NHS.

Serena is a four-year member of the track and field team, a two-year member of the cross country team and has competed at the State Music Festival for two years.
