Hi-Line Whist

On Tuesday, June 27, the team of Curt and Pearl found success in both games against the team of Delores and Clara, 13-6 in the second after a 14-0 walloping in the first.

“The skunk came in, said ‘hi,’ we said ‘bye,’ and he left,” Pearl reported.

On Friday, June 30, Pearl and Agnes took Delores and Curt out behind the woodshed in a 18-1 thrashing before Delores and Curt redeemed themselves with a 13-3 win.

“The big cards just kept coming to us,” said Pearl of game one.

On Friday, Tuesday, July 4, Curt and Pearl bullied Clara and Delores, dominating the day's actions with wins of 13-3 and 15-4.

"Their cards couldn't keep up with ours," said Pearl.

On Friday, July 7, Gloria and Pearl found success in the first two contests, 14-8 and Grand slam to 5, before Agnes and Clara got in the winning column with a 14-1 victory.

"We were all so happy that they were able to come back and beat us in the final game," Pearl reports.

Malta Duplicate Bridge

Wednesday, June 21, saw Lois Goodheart and Bob Maxie capture first place. Second place was awarded to Donna Olson and Madelyn Anderson.

The following Wednesday saw Malcolm Clouse and Bob take first place. Second went to Les Solberg and Byron Ereaux.

Whist

On Thursday, June 27, Ron Lundman outdid Jeannette Heinle, 47-46, as the two finished in first and second place .The traveling prize was awarded to Lou Olson.

Pinochle

On Friday, June 29, Roy Baeth’s 6,250 was good for first place and Nancy Soennichsen’s 6,060 was good for second place. (Nancy was also awarded the traveling prize on the day.)

On Thursday, July 6, Clair Waters was high-man with 6,600, bettering Clarence Blunt who finished in second with a total of 6,280. Clair also shared the traveling prize with Clarence Jacobson.
