One Nation, Under God

Loring News for July 12, 2017

7-5. Wow! We are burning up, up here in northern Phillips County! We need rain and the temps are in the 90's!

Jeanie Green and I went to Havre on Thursday. It was a fun day and we ate Chinese food!

It was nice to see some old friends at the GPDM this last week. Cynthia Schwarz Lougheed stopped with her daughter and grandkids. I know it has been more than ten years since I've seen her! And Joyce Robinson stopped in with the Cave girls, Mardy, Vickie and Brenda and some of their kids and grands!

Some of the professional people, paleontologists, geologists, and researchers were visitors at the museum this past week.

It seems that most of the people in this part of the country are at the lake taking advantage of the long weekend with the Fourth of July!

The Buck Moon was the full moon on the 8th.

7-12. Still no rain, hot, hot temps! So sorry about the fire in the Little Rockies! You know when we get fire up here on the prairie, the grass burns and then comes back nice and green. But down in the pines, it takes many, many decades to replenish the trees!

My sister, Debbie Richau of Billings drove up to visit me! We talked and laughed! We checked out some old haunts and saw a beautiful great horned owl! We looked at the progress on the church and it is very nice! The congregation will be picking out paint next! We also checked out a cover crop field on the way home from Malta! The sunflowers are getting kinda tall.

I saw a whole family of Hungarian partridges yesterday! They were enjoying the Insectivora from our lawn with their momma! I wonder how long they will survive in this dry country of ours!

Pete and Carol Lumsden returned from their reunion in Washington with brother Red and family! They said it was a great visit!

Jay and Whitney Blunt spent Sunday at the lake cooling off from this heat. I guess you get the idea, it is hot and dry up here.

Congratulations to Jaimee and Jake Obie on their marriage. It was wonderful to see Kathy and Jennifer with the grandkids at the museum!

I'm praying for rain!
