One Nation, Under God

William "Bill" Dunbar

William "Bill" Dunbar of Arlington, Wash., was born October 29, 1947, in Malta, Mont. On June 27, 2017, he passed away peacefully at home with his brother Bob at his side. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date in Malta. A victory celebration has been held in Arlington and a tree planted in his memory.

He was raised in the Whitewater community among family and friends. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting and farming for Roger and Harry. In his later years, he lived and made many friends in the Arlington area with the loving support of Alma and Greg. He developed an interest in football and was a big Seahawks fan. His Christmas and summer vacations were spent in Montana, and his visits were always a good time.

Life was a challenge for Bill, but he was a very determined, hardworking, and humble man. Everyone he came in contact with loved and respected him. During his last days, dozens of friends came to visit and say farewell. They all felt he had taught them many valuable life lessons. We were all blessed by his presence in our lives, and he will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marian Dunbar, and sister, Sharon.

Survivors include Margie and Dave Maloney, Bob and Cathy Dunbar, nephews Jason and Jared Maloney and nieces Heather Zorn and Allison Wood.

Memorials may be made in his name to Village Community Services, 5026 Cemetery Road #B, Arlington, WA 98223.
