One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for November 15, 2017

A wonderful tribute to veterans noting Veterans Day on Saturday was presented at the school on Thursday with a trio under the direction of Kyla Messerly starting the program singing the National Anthem as the flags were presented. This was followed by patriotic songs sang by the elementary grades choirs. Another group of older girls played an older instrument melody that was enjoyed by all present. Terri Cole spoke on a mother's view when her children are in the service and are deployed in times of strife, Edward Solberg spoke next and gave honor to the Gold Star mothers among other issues, Eldora Henry gave a view on Iwo Jima and its importance in helping bring World War 11 to an end. And Veteran and teacher at the school Mr. Weekly spoke to conclude the program. The guests were all invited and enjoyed a lunch with the students. We are so happy that ALL the services and veterans are remembered. Great going kids, keep up the good work!

The heavy fog stayed down all day Saturday and most of Sunday. Virginia Solberg, returning from Billings and Wink and Terri Cole, returning from Denton, reported heavy fog and limited visibility coming home. The temperatures have also continued to stay very cold. The cold and the heavy snowfall in parts of the state have broken records for these dates.

Birthday greetings are sent to Ryan Lankford and Clayton KillEagle and every one having a birthday this week and anniversary congratulations are sent to Milton and Fran Werk.

Where we love is home - home that our feet may leave but not our hearts.

Bundle up, stay warm and have a good week!
