Historical Society's Festival of Trees to be all 'A Glow'

“Christmas ‘A’Glow” sets the scene for the Phillips County Historical Society’s Christmas Tree Festival which began Tuesday, November 7, 2017. The Festival Open House is scheduled for Thursday evening, November 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Phillips County Museum.

Phillips County businesses, communities, organizations and individuals will be competing in the “Festival of Trees” event. The Festival - a competitive decorating contest which includes mini Christmas trees, wreaths, wall hangings, centerpieces and table runners is being held at the Phillips County Museum and will culminate with the Open House on Thursday evening, November 30, 2017.

This contest is a fundraiser for the Phillips County Historical Society. During the interim from November 7 to the evening of November 30, visitors are encouraged to view and vote on their favorite tree with a purchased token, and enter the bucket raffle for their favorite Christmas entry.

All balloting and “bucketing” will conclude on the evening of Thursday, November 30, during the Festival Open House at the Phillips County Museum. The tree receiving the most ballots will be awarded a $50.00 gift certificate from the PCM Gift Shop. In addition to the balloting and bidding, the evening will be enhanced by a live auction beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the decorated mini Christmas trees and other selected items. Local talent will provide delightful entertainment throughout the evening as guests partake of snacks, hors d’oeuvres, cookies, special hot drinks and punch. Admission is free.
