One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for December 13, 2017

Dec. 6, Whitewater News

Sympathies to the families of Bill Starkey, a longtime resident.

There will not be services at Whitewater Baptist Church during winter months. Pastor Wisher and family have gone to South Carolina until spring. Goodbye, and God bless to all of them.

Mike Hammond has had two young ranch hands from France! They were working on an agriculture program in the US. They are: Geoffrey Pinault and Antoine Rose, both from France and both of the gentlemen are returning home soon. Goodbye and Godspeed.

People certainly travel for Thanksgiving to see family. Jeff and Julie (Austin) Cole of Glasgow went to Spokane, Wash.

Lu Besel (Whitewater) went to visit family living close to Glacier Park.

Melanie, Mya and Jeanie Green took Amtrak to Minnesota to visit Dale Green and family.

Sally Austin went to Kremlin, Mont., to visit Joyce and Dennis Donovan and family.

Janice and Curt Reichelt went to Denver, Colo., to visit family.

I went to Saco to Gale and Challise’s (daughter and granddaughter) where we had a delicious turkey dinner with family. Monte Broadbrooks and Mr. Everett Marks (age 92) also enjoyed dinner.

Friday, we went to Sleeping Buffalo and we enjoyed the water, as did many others in the pools.

Well, it is a beautiful day here in Whitewater, Mont. The sun is shining bright and there is very little wind. Guess I will go for a walk.

The “tax cut”, will help the rich people, the corporations and business. The working middle class will again pay most taxes. It's so sad.

Again sympathy to the family of Don Nevrivy, manager of MOI.

Good news. A new arrival in Whitewater! A baby boy born to Adam and Taylor Hellie in late November. A big brother is also in the family. Congratulations to all.

Whitewater Lutheran Sunday School program is Sunday, December 17.

Note: Since I am not on Facebook, I don't always get news; at least on time. If you have news, call me at 406-674-5576 or write to me. Thanks.

Congratulations to Shelby LaBrie of Whitewater, on being “athlete of the week”.

There is no school on Fridays during basketball season in Whitewater.

The school Christmas program will be Wednesday, December 13 at the School Auditorium. Everyone welcome.

Saco School Christmas program is Monday, Dec. 18. Challise, my granddaughter, is in the concert.

Hello and thank you to Darvin Rush (friend) of Missoula, Mont. He always sends me a lovely Christmas card right after Thanksgiving.

Yes, the Christmas season is upon us. Have you sent out Christmas cards? Some folks like snow for Christmas. (I don't like snow at all.) We had snow in November but a “chinook” wind took it all. (That's good.)

In the “Christmas rush”, don't forget that “Jesus is the reason for the season!”

Helen A.
