One Nation, Under God

Letters to Santa and Christmas Art from Phillips County Schools

Loring Colony School Christmas Poems and Letters to Santa

Mrs. E.

Dear Santa,

O Dear Santa,

Please come back,

Back with your sack,

Full of toys and Christmas joys,

Your big old sack full of mysteries,

The red sack,

You have used for all these years,

It will bring laughter and squeals,

If you just come back,

With your shiny red sack,

Sincerely,

One of the good kids

"Let Us Not Forget"

We forget,

Forget what Christmas is really about,

It seems,

It's about the toys and the cost,

We forget.

The true meaning of Christmas,

Is the joy,

Is the love,

Let us not forget,

The ones around us,

The happiness that is shown,

The life within the young blue eyes,

The smile beneath the little pink lips.

It's just a wish,

For me to see,

That we would not forget,

What Christmas is all about.

Dear Mr. Santa,

It's been quite the year, from spring, back to winter. Spring was not so bad, a little rain here and there. But this summer was like being in the Sahara Desert. Very hot, very dry all summer long. And we live in Montana. The drought of 2017 started fires every day and damaged farm crops. My wish, dear Santa, is wrap up lots of snow and sprinkle it over our landscape.

It will be welcome!

Sincerely,

Justin Conrad Hofer

Dear Santa,

I tried to catch you, Santa. But you are too sneaky. I hope to see you this year. I hope to see Rudolph and catch him too.

My favorite thing about Christmas is that I get to see my cousins. I like to play with them and I get to play with their dog. I like playing checkers and playing catch with them.

"The time Santa last 1000 elves"

It was the week before Christmas and Santa went to the workshop to check on his elves. He had 5000 elves but there was just 4000! Santa went off to find the elves. Then in the distance, he saw a lot of little green dots. It was the elves, but there was only 900. It was the Night before Christmas Eve. Luckily he found them in the snow. He had to get to his house quick but how? He looked in the sky and he saw his reindeer with his sleigh. Good thing they got here on Christmas Eve. He set off and delivered all the presents.

"The Late Christmas present"

Once on Christmas Eve, everyone was so happy that Christmas is here. They were being so good to each other because Christmas was tomorrow. The next day the presents were not there. Santa didn't deliver the presents last night! When the children woke up they saw no presents were there. They lost their Christmas spirit. The mom and dad tried to cheer them up by making cookies. It didn't work so all the children went to bed. The next day the presents were there! The children were so happy. Santa wrote all the children a note that said I am so sorry that I didn't give you presents. The children wrote Santa a note that said it was OK! The children were so happy that the presents were here and the Christmas spirit was back! The end.

"The day Santa got sick"

It was a cold night. Santa could not get out of bed. Mrs. Claus had to bring him everything. Santa was so sick! He did not want to get out of bed. He was so tired he fell asleep again. Then Mrs. Claus delivered the presents to the children. When Mrs. Claus got home she was tired so she took a nap. Santa woke up and felt better, then Mrs. Claus was sick. Then who will make cookies for Santa? Santa will be hungry. Mrs. Claus please get better. The end.

"The Last Christmas presents" One day the elves were making a presents and the power went off. The elves didn't know what to do, so Santa told the elves to make the toys old fashion. The elves made all of the toys old fashion. The next morning all the toys were gone. The elves didn't know what to do so they called Santa and Santa said look everywhere. The elves looked everywhere and could not find the toys. One else said we just need to wrap all the presents. Santa looked in his bag, the toys were not there. Santa went in his room and found 1000 toys in his room. The elves heard Santa yell "I found the presents" and that was the day before Christmas Eve. The elves were relieved Santa found all the presents. Santa whispered, "I forgot I put them there."

"The Story of a Bad Christmas"

Santa was scared because it was Christmas and Rudolph the red nose reindeer had no red nose. Santa tried to put new batteries in his nose, but it didn't work. So, he put lights on the reindeer but it was foggy and snowy. He used Christmas love to do it, all the Christmas love he could, and it worked. He set off on his sleigh because it just turned midnight.

One day Santa told his elves to make a train for a little boy, but they didn't have the stuff to make it. So, on Christmas morning he didn't get it. So, the next Christmas he got the train you want it. It was his best Christmas ever!

"The magical icicle"

Once upon a time it was one day before Christmas, all the elves were happy and excited. Santa decided instead of riding in his sleigh he would ride in a train. The reindeer would pull it. And so he left. On the way there he got an alert. It said people are losing their Christmas spirit! The magic icicle was almost gone! Santa said oh no! That means if the magical icicle was almost gone the things at the North Pole won't work. But he did not look at the watch. Right there is still one family with Christmas spirit. When he finally got to New York City, Santa found the family. I need your help people are losing their Christmas spirit! I need your family to sing the best song you can find. So they did and everybody kept getting the Christmas spirit back one by one and soon everybody in that town had Christmas spirit back. So they went to every single place in the world and sang the same song every single time and everybody had their Christmas spirit back, except the North Pole. So that family sang there too and everybody had their Christmas spirit and so they celebrated with cookies, games and even a snowball fight. The families names were the Nomsara. The Dad Jim. The son Jason. The daughter Lily. The children got a ride in the sleigh. When they came back they got a ride back home in the Polar Express and they thought it was awesome.

And they all live happily ever after!

"A Gone Wrong Christmas Eve"

Once on one Christmas Eve, it went wrong, because a mom and dad didn't get presents for the children. If they find out they will be devastated, in tears. They will lose the Christmas spirit. Christmas is in One week! I need to get presents today. The kids will never be happy again, the mom said. Then 10 days before Christmas Eve the parents went to get presents. They had to buy a lot of gifts for the children. They will be astonished. What will the children want from Santa Claus? If he does not come the children will be sad, very sad, even if it is your own kids. Teenagers might get a phone or something. Might even be a case or a poster of Lady Gaga or something. Now it is Christmas Eve, they are sad because all of the presents are not wrapped. It is so sad. Now it is Christmas. Santa didn't come at all. They are devastated, in tears. They have lost their Christmas spirit. They won't leave their rooms at all and it is so sad. Then the day after Christmas there were presents under the Christmas tree. The parents were surprised they thought that Santa Claus was not going to come. Then the kids came out. They were surprised.

"A No Good Christmas"

At the bakery Mrs. Claus made cookies. They were so good Santa and the elves told her to make another batch. But then she forgot to put an ingredient in. So then Mrs.Claus got the cookies out of the oven and thought something smelled funny. The cookies looked different from her last ones. Then she had Santa try one and he started coughing. Mrs. Claus said cough it out, but then he accidentally swallowed it. After a few hours, he came to Mrs. Claus and he was redder than Rudolph's nose. Mrs.Claus asked what is the matter, and he said I can't breathe. Then Mrs. Claus said but Christmas is tomorrow night. What are we going to do? Santa said I'm afraid we have to cancel Christmas this year. Now I'm gonna get you a Doctor. They said it was from that cookie. Mrs. Claus went to go look at the ingredients and she said uh oh I forgot the secret ingredient. Santa can't have cookies without chocolate! She forgot to make her special chocolate that does not make Santa allergic to cookies. So then she made another batch of cookies with the chocolate in them and gave them to Santa to see if it would help his red face from getting redder and make him breathe a little better. He tried them and it worked! After a couple hours, he was all better! He can go give out Christmas presents tomorrow, unless something goes wrong.

The next day Santa and the reindeer loaded up all of the presents onto the sleigh, and Santa put on the reindeer's harnesses. The sun was about to go down. Santa and a couple of the elves got in the sleigh and when they were up in the air they waved bye to Mrs. Claus.

"Santa and the Broken Sleigh"

On Christmas night, a little girl named Annabelle was looking at Santa who had a broken sleigh in her backyard. Then she fainted. It was Christmas Eve and Annabelle was having fun with her family. She was getting ready to go to bed. Annabelle sat on the floor by her bed, and prayed. "Dear Santa, I hope you can get everyone their Christmas present, and you have a great Christmas, Love Annabelle." She went to bed and at about 10:20, she hears a bang, crash, owwwwww. She looks out her window and sees Santa Claus! Annabelle closed her eyes and rubbed them. Then she opened them. He was still there on the ground with a broken sleigh! She went outside and looked at him. Then she fainted! Annabelle finally woke up and said, " Am I really looking at the one and only Santa Claus?" All the reindeer looked at Santa Claus and he looked back at her. They all shook their heads up and down. Santa Claus said, "You must be Annabelle. I was going to your roof to deliver your presents and my sleigh broke down, as you can see. I hope you can help me get my sleigh working again, so I can deliver more presents to the world!" "Santa, I will help you," said Annabelle. Now, it was 12:10 and Annabelle and Santa were done with the sleigh. Santa put Annabelle to bed, and he went and gave Annabelle her present. He stopped and turned around and said, "You go tell all your friends that Santa is real, but do not, I repeat do not, tell them you saw Santa Claus!" Annabelle said, "Ok, I will not" Then Santa sprinkled a little power on her so she would not remember anything.

"The Dog's Gift"

Today is the twenty-second of December in 2014. My name is Buttercup, and I'm a dog. I live with a family of five, but one of the people isn't here often. I believe his name was Virg or Virgel. This month is very confusing. I mean there is a random tree in the middle of our living room, and Tyson is not allowed to use it like a fire hydrant. Every Christmas people buy me new toys, so this Christmas I decided to buy Kaeleb a present. The problem is that I can't go to a store myself. So I tried to ask Sam if we can go to PetSmart, and she just giggled and petted me. I was saying, " Why won't you answer me!?" But then I realized that they don't know what I'm saying. "Well... shoot" I couldn't think of what to do. Then I had a plan. I heard the people talking and saying that they all were going shopping. Then I decided that I'm going to run away to PetSmart and buy (steal) Kaeleb something for Christmas. So the day came. I was put outside like usual, and thankfully, they didn't tie the gate so I could get out very easily. I rammed the gate a couple times then boom the gate was open, and I could go to Petsmart. So I walked down the sidewalk to the road Nelson. It had a lot of fast-moving objects that I think are called cars or something. When all the movement stopped I walked across the street without dying. Now all I had to do is get into PetSmart. One person tried to call my owners, but I ran away first. I walked up to the store and saw many Christmas lights and dogs there, but with owners. I walked into the store and saw so many things to get Kaeleb for Christmas. I decided to get him a green spiky ball. I walked home and broke in the door. I put it in a shoe box and closed it. Then Christmas came. Everyone gathered around and Kaeleb saw his present. He opened it and started laughing, " Wow, when and who got me a dog toy?" Everyone looked around shaking their heads then Sam looked down at me. Everyone looked down and burst into laughter, "I guess Buttercup got her favorite person a gift," Sam said. Then I was put outside for dinner. After that, we had a Merry Christmas.

"Santa Lost his Present for MONTANA!"

Santa is getting so forgetful sometimes. This time he got himself in a pickle and forgot his presents in a spot for Montana. "Santa," Rudolph said. "What about the dogs?" "Maybe" said Santa. "But Sherman, the new dog, is too inexperienced. The other dogs can teach him. He's a fast learner." So they let the dogs lose. It was only 3 days before Christmas so they worked for two days. They were getting scared so they let Sherman out, but they still had no luck! It was Christmas, and they were going to go bonkers! Sherman found a trace of the smell. So they took off running and Sherman moved through the small spaces. They ran for forty minutes, and then were around the spot. But then Sherman lost the scent but found it again, and led them to the to Santa's workshop. He was SAVED.

"Waddle's Desert Christmas"!

Waddles the penguin just went shopping and got back. He got a kazoo. "I can't wait to play this!" he said. A snowstorm was going on. Right when Waddles stepped outside he got goosebumps from the cold. He got on his skis and slid off. Halfway through Waddles' ski ride home, SWOOSH a huge gust of wind hit and Waddles' went flying. For a second he thought he was dreaming, then he realized he was in a desert. When Waddles got up from the fall, he looked around for a while. A hyena was hiding behind a tree and said, "What's that?" for he had never seen a penguin before. The hyena jumped in front of Waddles, "Hey, what are ya?" the hyena said. Waddles fell back. "Uh, I'm Waddles. I'm a penguin," Waddles said.

"Well I'm Harry, and I'm a hyena, mate." Waddles and Harry both looked into each other's eyes, both confused. They both met someone of a species they've never even heard of. Harry turned around and said, "Nice meeting you, mate." Next thing you know he's gone. Waddles continued walking for a while, the sand started to pick up and keep going higher and higher. It was a sandstorm. Wind blew sand everywhere, and sand blew things everywhere. It was almost impossible to see. An hour past and the sand calmed down. Waddles stood up and started walking again. After walking for about three yards, a cobra approached Waddles, "What are ya doing?" the cobra asked. Waddles was used to the weird animals by now and just said, "I'm Waddles. I'm trying to get home... what are you? I've seen lots of things in this place but I've never seen a live stick before," Waddles stated, not realizing that it was an insult.

The cobra chuckled, "I'm a cobra, my name's Samuel. Here take this! It is Christmas Eve after all.'' Samuel's tail crept up his back revealing a tiny handmade ornament. It was: a small piece of cacti with a thorn placed directly in the center of the top the thorn was bent like a hook and the small cacti piece was wrapped in string. "Thanks!" thanked Waddles.

Waddles wondered a bit. He found a huge cactus with a nice shape. He took the ornament Sam made him and hung it on one of the thorns of the cactus. It was about ten o'clock pm, and Waddles went to bed. When he woke up Harry and Samuel were there. "Merry Christmas!" they shouted. "Thanks for the gifts!" said Waddles.

"Naughty? Or, Nice?"

Emily lives at the North Pole. She is 11 years old. Emily is taking her dog, Ralph on a walk. "Umm, I don't remember being over this way, I think we're lost. Let's go this way...see if our house is somewhere over here," said Emily. Emily and Ralph come across a cabin. "Let's go to this cabin and see if the people here know where to go." Emily knocks on the door "Whoa, well hello little girl, are you lost"? asked Santa. "Whoa Santa?! but yes, we are lost and don't know how we go to get back home," said Emily. "Rudolph, may you get me my tracker please?" asked Santa. "Sure thing, Santa," said Rudolph. "Well, lets see here....Emily's house."Ah Ah! Well, it looks like you have to walk 4 miles west!" exclaimed Santa. "Ok, thank you so much Santa!" said Emily. Emily and Ralph start walking when "Oh..., you think you're doing this by yourselves do ya? Rudolph and I are coming with you," said Santa. "Okay, fine with me, YES!" said Emily. So they have walked 2 miles now, 2 more to go when they come across this big fluff ball. "What is that?" said Rudolph. "This is my worst nightmare. Back in 1306, this fluff ball tried to hurt me, but I used my nice or naughty potion. I can choose naughty or nice, but I have never chosen naughty. That potion lasts for 1000 years. The wizard probably turned him naughty," explained Santa. Then the fluff ball wakes up and snaches Ralph! "Oh no! Ralph! Get him, Santa!" said Emily. "Don't make me use the potion on you again!" said Santa. Then Santa sprayed the potion at him, and he was nice. He put Ralph down. Santa said, "Now, let's get you guys home." They get home and their dad thanks, Santa. The next day Ralph is thinking, "Hey,.he was just a big fluff ball of cotton. I shoulda just bit him." Ralph goes to the fluff ball's lair. "Come and get me big fluff ball." Fluff ball gets Ralph and he is angry, but Ralph bit him. "There, that taught you a lesson. Now you will be the nicest fluff ball ever! Fluff ball never did anything to hurt anyone ever again.

"The Christmas Play that Saved the Claus Elf School"

In Claus City (which is in the North Pole of course) Kloey and Sally were just getting ready for their last day of elf school before Christmas break. "Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Elves have Christmas break too. I thought that was the busiest time of year for them. Well, the truth is the kids don't have to work, but our parents and teachers do. The rest of the break is for relaxation," Kloey said to the human children. Sally said, "Why don't we have a hot chocolate sale for cold elves because even some parents make their children work." "Now, I thought that was unfair to children," said Kloey. As they rode their bicycles to school they discussed ways to make their hot chocolate.

"Oh, and my name is Kloey Mcintire. I am 11, and my sister Sally is 11. We are twins," Kloey is saying. Elves stop aging when they are seventeen. So my grandma who is 800, looks like she is seventeen. I hope elves will never age forever. The only sad part is that our human friend's age, which makes elves on the shelf pretty sad.

We were very happy all day until the announcement that their school would close was announced at lunchtime. Every elf was frantic and was saying that they could try to raise money by doing a fundraiser. I had such a brilliant idea I thought the fundraiser could be a Christmas concert like human children have. " Ya, I know you're thinking they get a brake, but they don't get a Christmas concert," said Sally to the human children. "Well," said Sally, "We also have Christmas all year." This year, though we have a set time for everything, and I think we will have a Christmas concert. The concert will be the first in 250,000 years. Max, my uncle is coming over to talk about fundraisers to save the school. I told Sally to tell him about what we wanted to do for the school. We also think it would bring a lot of holiday cheer since our town is not cheerful after Santa got a broken leg from falling off a roof last year. I am happy to make other elves happy. The play will be about first Christmas because I know Santa loves that one.

We told our Uncle Max and he said we could have that as the fundraiser, but it would be a lot of work. We agreed we would try our hardest. Kloey was Mary and Sally was a shopkeeper. The whole school was cast in the play except the teachers. The play raised $1,000,000,459 and the school was kept open. Our play was a success, and we made a lot of elves happy. We even bought the teachers presents. The elves enjoyed the presents! Kloey and Sally were very happy.

"The Elf on the Shelf"

As the women lifted the Elf on the Shelf off the shelf, the elf was relieved. Finally thought the elf, sitting on that shelf paid off! Right when they got in the house, the kids came through the door. They were fighting about something, but the mom interrupted them and held out the elf. "What do you think her name should be?" asked the mom. "I don't care," said the older boy. "Really Travis? Do I need to get your dad?" scolded the mom. "No." "Hmmmmm. . ." thought the little boy "Ooh! I know!" screamed the little boy, "ALEX!!!" "Ok, that's her name," said Mom.

The mom set Alex on a shelf and then left. The little boy waited until everyone was gone and then picked up the elf. "Hi," said the boy, "My name's Ben, I don't like that name, I asked mom if I could change my name but she said no. She said when I was twenty-two I could change my name, but that's. . ." The boy started to count his fingers "That's 15, wait, no 16 years." The elf was trying as hard as she could not to laugh "Could you ask Santa to put me on the good boy list and my brother on the bad boy list? He's mean to me. Please, please, please, PLEASE!" "What are you doing up there Ben?" called his mom. "Nothing!" Ben left and went into his room, and Travis came out of his room and looked at the elf. He grinned and went to his brother's room and knocked on the door. When Ben came out he said, "What do you want?!" "I want to tell you the legend of the Elf on the Shelf.," said Travis. "Oh, no," thought Alex.

Alex tiptoed into the room and hid behind a model car. "Tell me, tell me, tell me." rambled Ben. "Ok, ok. . . The Legend of the Elf on the Shelf. There once was two boys and their mom bought them an Elf on the Shelf. Santa had been looking for new employees to work as elves, so he hired the Elf on the Shelf to hire someone. The elf asked the boys if they wanted to work for Santa, the elf had been neglected before, and his deadline was in one week. When they said no, he got very mad, and he made them listen to every word he says." Travis went on, "They're still slaving away to this day. . . The End." Ben looked terrified, the elf sneaked out of the room and sat back on the shelf. The time had come to send final letters to Santa. The elf had a plan.

Christmas morning, Ben was still terrified! He went to open up his present from Santa. When he opened a letter from him, it said, Dear, Ben

You have been a very good boy, Alex told me so. -Santa Clause

"I knew it." thought Ben. "What?!!!" came a shout. Travis had got coal. It came with a letter, Dear Travis,

Just be a better boy next year and you'll get that model airplane- Santa Claus

"The Year Santa went to Africa"

Santa was packing his sleigh getting ready to go deliver presents when the mailman came in. Santa said to him, "This is very last minute." He had brought him a letter from a girl in Africa. It said, "This year all I want for Christmas is to see you. Nobody in my town believes in you." Santa said to Mrs. Claus. "If I have time, I will stop." Santa delivered all the presents to the girls and boys and still had time. So he stopped in Africa, but then he got lost. He wanted to give this girl a good Christmas, but he could not see because of all of the trees. He had to go on the ground and fly lower than the trees. He went looking and looking for her address. He stopped at 31 South Africa, but it was a lion's house, and it chased him all the way into North Africa. He kept looking. By now he had a few bumps, bruises, and scratches. The reindeer were tired and mad. They wanted to go home, but Santa said, no. "We will get to sleep later. We are not done," he said. "Fine," said the reindeer. They decided to stop for cookies and carrots at the nearest market. While at the market Santa asked the lady working there if she knew this girl. He couldn't believe his ears when she said, "Mr. Claus you are looking at her! I can't believe this! I know you are tired from such a long night, but you will please join us for a festival. I'll invite the whole village so they can all meet you, and I can prove you really are real!" But the reindeer said no! After much convincing with carrots they decided to stay and have a party. Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

"A Seattle Christmas"

Hi, I'm Sarah and I want to tell you about a Christmas that happened to us last year. It all started on Christmas Eve morning when my sister, Serena and I woke up. " Serena, wake up, it's time to go for our five-mile run." Sarah said. "Sarah do we have to do it today?" Serena said. "Yes, we do because it is Christmas Eve, and we do it every morning at 4:00 a.m." jabbed Sarah. "Fine, but only if you type my essay for me," said Serena. I walk up to my stepmom and dad's room and tell them we are leaving "Ryder, Raigna, we are leaving," said Sarah. "Ok, be safe." Ryder said. When I walk upstairs I see all the presents are gone. "David where are the presents?" Sarah asks. "I don't know someone must have stolen them." David said shockingly, "Oh no!"

"Well, why don't we go through the security footage your step-parents put up," David said excitingly. "Oh, I forgot about the camera footage. But David do you know where they keep the computer for it?" asks Sarah. "No, I guess I don't know where your stepmother has it," David said sadly. "Wait a minute where is Serena? Serena!" I yelled in my loudest voice as Serena came running in through the elevator. "Sarah I think I know where the presents are!" Serena said excitedly. "Wait how did you know, and how did you get past me?" wonders Sarah. "Oh, David you didn't tell her?" Serena said. "No, because I didn't want to alarm her," David said. "Well, I think she's already alarmed. Look Sarah on the stairs when you were coming up you slipped and hit your head pretty hard." Serena said. "Ok, but where do you think the presents are?" I said. "I think they are in the triple-locked closet," Serena said sadly. "I'll go unlock the closet if I can find the right keys," David said cheerfully. One hour later, "I found the keys and unlocked it but there were no presents in the closet." Serena said sadly. When it was time for them to go to bed we saw something.

I snuck upstairs and to my surprise, everyone was waiting there. "Serena, what's going on why are you guys here?" Santa was standing there introducing himself like we didn't know who he was. "Hi, I'm Santa Claus and I want to say sorry for making you think you had a burglar. It was only us. We were upgrading your presents to the latest models." Santa said cheerfully. "Sir, we have unloaded all the presents." an elf said. "Well, we should get on our way. Have a Merry Christmas." Santa said. As he left he yelled, "Ho Ho Ho!" And that was my Christmas last year, here in my home in Seattle.

"Rudolph"

Once there was a reindeer named Rudolph. He was special because he had a red nose. Sometimes the other reindeer made fun of him, but he didn't care he was unique. He loved Christmas. It was his favorite holiday. Every year when Santa went delivering presents was Rudolph's favorite part of Christmas. So one day when they were delivering presents Rudolph decided to ask Santa if he could go explore while Santa delivered presents to this house. Santa said, "No, it's far too dangerous!" Rudolph was sad he couldn't go, and he decided to go anyway. As they were at a house delivering presents Rudolph snuck off and wandered around. He thought it would be fun, but as he walked around it got darker and darker. He looked around and noticed he was lost. He thought what if they are spending all their time looking that they won't deliver the presents in time. "Oh no, what will I do?" said Rudolph. "I must find my way to Santa." So Rudolph went on his way calling for Santa and the others. Then he came up to a house and saw a little girl in the window, sleeping. Rudolph missed Santa so much that he started running and didn't stop till he reached a small house. Then he heard someone. It was Santa. The elves and he were at this house delivering presents. So Rudolph ran over to them and said, " I thought you were looking for me." "We watched you the whole time. You didn't even leave the yard," said Santa. Rudolph was embarrassed. "Well, I learned a lesson," said Rudolph. "And, what's that?" said Santa. "That you should never disobey anyone." "I'm sorry," said Rudolph. "I should have listened to you." "It's okay," said Santa. Then they finished delivering presents and went back to the North Pole and had a very Merry Christmas.

"Fluffy, the Cotton Ball"

There was a cotton ball whose name is Fluffy. Santa made him then something went wrong. An elf spilled potion in the machine, evil potion. He terrorized the North Pole. Joking. The potion was good but there was a wizard that did not. He cast a spell on Fluffy then he became evil. He didn't like Santa because Santa didn't bring him a pony. But Fluffy was under command of the wizard words. Then the wizard said to Fluffy, "Go and terrorized the world." He saw a girl named Emily and a dog named Ralph. He asked if they were lost. They said no because Santa's here. Then Santa heard that a Fluffy was a mean cotton ball. So Santa kicked him to New York. Then Fluffy came back and saw Emily and Ralph. Then Fluffy took Ralph to his secret cave and tied him up. Ralph noticed the knot was not good enough. Ralph got loose then he ran back to Emily. Emily was excited, and they tried walking back home. Ralph said, "It's right around the corner."

"The Toy Factory"

It was a normal day at the toy factory until Santa came in. Sometimes when Santa comes in this late it means he is mad. He said, "Who made this train?" I thought it was Tom the new elf in the factory. But because I'm the manager and Tom is a new elf I got in trouble. Anyway, the real fun starts on the most special night in December, just before Christmas! I was hoping to go to bed early, but a tree fell over and knocked the magic hammer into a canyon. And this was no ordinary canyon it was the White Canyon! And that was not even my hammer, that was Santa's special gold hammer. What was I going to do? I could see the hammer on a ledge. It was farther down, but I could reach. So I started to climb down, but the hammer fell even further. Now I couldn't get up! "Candy canes and carrot sticks, why do elves have to be so short!" I exclaimed. When I finally got out I took a nice long rest. As I got into the factory I heard something from outside. It was the dumpster where all the broken toys went and somehow the toys came to life! There was Billy bear, Betty doll, and even Toby train from earlier. If you are asking how I know their names It's because they told me of course. We had a bit of a chat until I heard a loud, Boom! Yet again, it was Santa and that's when I remembered. It's Christmas! I have to get Santa's special gold hammer! Billy bear said he would help get the hammer and the other toys agreed. So we start to walk to the White Canyon. That's when we heard a loud moan. I was so scared I was shivering in my suit! It was cold outside too, but you get what I mean. Toby train was the bravest of all of us so he went down first. When we got to the bottom it wasn't dark. It was really super white. That's when we saw the hammer which was in a cave with a lot of other shiny things. We looked at everything even at the very bottom. There was a lot of stuff. When we saw the hammer the next thing we saw was a big giant yeti! We all quickly ran away and hid inside a small cave and waited for the yeti to leave. After that, we went back to the other cave and grabbed as much stuff as we all could. Toby loaded up the back cargo carriers and we all carried everything up. When we got back, Santa came to see what was wrong. Just then everyone cheered and grabbed their lost things, and Santa got his hammer back.

"All About Luck "

Urg. The thing I hate about school is the homework. Tomorrow is Christmas. Even on the holidays the teachers never give us a break. I have usually have a boatload of homework. Because mom's boyfriend is coming for Christmas dinner, mom wants me to clean the house and do some baking. So the homework seems like a shipload. When I was 9, my mom and dad had gotten a divorce, and all the work had been up to me because mom could hardly ever get a day off. So I got my homework done, and by the time I was done the clock read 4:37. I did some baking, so then tomorrow, I could clean. I went into the kitchen, got a pen and some paper, and made a list. The list read: a cake, some dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn. Mom's boyfriend, Max was going to bring the chicken and drinks. I hoped what he would bring was good. By the time I had everything into pots and pans, all mashed up, packaged, and ready to go, it was 6:23.

I got up at 10:34 a.m. Oh my gosh! I was running really late! Especially because I was a terrible cleaner. When I say terrible, I mean terrible! I would have thought mom would have remembered the fiasco of last time. But apparently not. I always have bad luck. I swept the porch, swept and mopped the floors when things started to go wrong. While cleaning the bathroom tub, the plug let out, and all my cleaning water went down the drain. NOT cool. While cleaning the windows, I was trying to find out how to spray the window cleaner onto the windows, when it sprayed into my face, instead of the window I was going to clean. YUCK!!! While I was putting the cleaning supplies away, thinking about how much I hated cleaning, Mom drove into the driveway. I quickly shoved everything into the cupboard. When mom came in, I smiled up at her and asked her how her day was. But before she could answer, Max showed up.

Mom needed to change out of her work clothes. She told me to show him around. I showed him all around the porch, yard, four bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, two bathrooms, living room, and mom's office. Max thought it was a nice house. I'll have to admit, Max was a nice guy. He wanted me to help me carry the food, drinks, and presents he brought. Max and I put the presents under the Christmas tree, and the food and drinks on the table. Then mom came out of her bedroom, her curly brown hair freshly brushed. I think she was trying a bit too hard to impress him. We then ate dinner, visited, and played games.

"Present time!" Mom had a big surprise for me. She went out to the Toyota and brought in a puppy. It was white and was sooo cute. I named her Sasha. We exchanged all of our presents. After Max had left, I told mom that I felt a little guilty about not giving any presents for other people. Mom just said that the best present was me and all the work that I did to get everything ready. I thanked mom and gave her a big hug. Maybe I had good luck after all. I knew, that this was going to be the best Christmas ever, even if my parents were not getting along.

"Christmas Mystery"

It was a normal Christmas Eve when suddenly Santa saw his sleigh was gone. He said, "My sleigh! What happened to it? Where is it? I need it tonight. Sugar do you know where it is?" "Where what is?"asked Sugar. "My sleigh," said Santa. "It's where it always is, in the barn," said Sugar looking puzzled. "I looked in to check on it, and it was gone," said Santa. "I'll call a detective to help us," said Sugar. "Call him quick," said Santa. "I'll call right now. He said he will be here as fast as he can," said Sugar. "Hi, Santa!!!" said Buddy the Elf. "What can I do for you today. After all, it is Christmas day," said Buddy. "We can't find my sleigh anywhere," said Santa. "I'll take a look," said Buddy. "Where was it the last place you saw it?" "Where it always is, or at least, was, in the barn," said Santa. "Let's ask the reindeer if they know anything," said Buddy. "Well, have you guys seen who stole it," asked Buddy. "If we did, Santa would not have had Sugar call you," said all the Reindeer. "What, look at the snow! There are sleigh tracks," said Sugar. "Let see where they lead," said Buddy. They followed the tracks to see where they lead. The tracks stopped at a house. "Whose house is this?" asked Sugar. "This is Maffy, the angriest elf in the North pole," said Santa. "I bet he tried to ruin Christmas again," said Sugar.

"Buddy"

Hello, my name is Buddy, and I have been bad. Santa is coming to town. I will be sad if I do not get a present. I get grounded lots, and it stinks. One day Santa lost his reindeer, not Rudolph. It will take awhile to get to my house. I ask my mom for presents, but she says wait for Santa. I can not wait for him. Let's buy presents for mom and dad. I will be good so I get a present. When Santa gets here... BANG!!! I broke a lamp. I will ask him for a super bi... BOOM!!! I was going to say a super big teddy bear. I try to be good, but I always am horrible. Last year I got a real bear. He was mean. Santa is here, and I was good. He got me a big teddy bear. I said, "THANK YOU SANTA!" I wonder what he will get me next year?

The Night Santa was Late

One night a little boy named George was waiting for Santa to come at 12:00 in the morning. He still was not here, so he asked himself, " Where is Santa Claus?" Santa was very late and was not on schedule. Then he arrived and read a note. He went back to the North Pole and he fell off a roof. When he got up he said what am I doing here. Then he fell asleep and did not do a lot. Then he did a lot and he gave the kid his present. They went out to dinner and he ate a lot. Then something happened. He was too full! Then he got very sick, and he did nothing after that. So George sweeps the house, made cookies for Santa, and got some milk to go with it. Santa said, " These are good cookies!" Then his reindeer were very impatient with that. One hour later Santa was up out of his chair and walking around ready to deliver presents.

"Santa"

Santa works at the North Pole. He makes about 1000 gifts a day and goes around the world. He is super nice. A lot of kids believe in him. But this year he was late to give out gifts. His sleigh fell apart, so he was late. When he built it again, and it was already Christmas.

So he tried to hurry to get to all the houses in the world. One of his deer was hurt from the sleigh. Santa gave him some medicine and they went to houses. He was late and kids started to wake up to see if he was in their house. But only their parents were wrapping up presents. So some kids stopped believing in Santa. One time they saw Santa, so they were believing again. Then he made it on time. Each good kid got presents. Then Santa was glad he got a better sleigh and he went back home. Some kids got games, puppies, Xbox, toys and the best gift of all is not a failure.

"The Day the Ingredients Turned"

One cold snowy afternoon in the kitchen, Molasses, Ginger, Flour, Eggs, Sugar, Cloves, Butter, and Vanilla were talking about what they were going to do for Christmas. Then I came in and they had to be quiet. I was making gingersnaps. I had to go to the bathroom. They continued talking. "OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!"yelled Ginger. "She is making GINGERSNAPS!!!! No, she is making me snaps." "Oh no!!!!" All the other ingredients yell. I came back but they don't notice. "What on earth!!!!" I yell. "Talking food." "We don't want to be in your gingersnaps!!" yells Butter. "Especially Ginger." "Yeah," says Ginger. I say, " Well then what am I going to make for Christmas? I always make gingersnaps". "You can make some chocolate chip cookies or something," says Butter. "Just don't mess with Ginger." "Oh come on guys pleeease, I have to make gingersnaps. It's just what I do." I said. "No no no!" Says Molasses. "I have to take them to my school Christmas party. Imagine all the sad kids," I said. Ginger says, "Well, if it is going to please you and all the kids then I guess we could work something out." They said I could make gingersnaps every other year. So I've been making gingersnaps every other year from that day on.

"Christmas Trouble"

One foggy day in the North Pole Santa was preparing his sleigh. In the factory, the elves were getting toys ready for kids all over. I came in and said "How is it going?" They said "Well." In the factory, the elves prepare a lot of toys. Meanwhile, Elf 1 is still sleeping. The rest of the elves are working very hard. When Elf 1 got up he was cranky. Soon Snowflake walked in and simply said "Hi Elf 1". Then soon elf 1 said, "Leave me alone, Snowflake." Snowflake ran away.

Cristel ran after her. Saying "Snowflake wait up. I am going to help you." Soon she caught up with her. Snowflake said that her heart was broken. She just wanted a great morning. "Snowflake was really sad," said Cristel to Santa. Santa was not happy with elf 1! Santa said, "I will talk to him." After that Cristel went to Elf 1. She said, "Elf 1 you really hurt Snowflakes feelings. You should go apologies to her." "Ok," Elf 1 said.

Four days later no apologies from Elf 1 yet, but maybe today he will say sorry. Soon it was 9:00 pm and Snowflake was sound asleep. Elf 1 came in Snowflake's room and put a note on her desk where she got ready every morning. The note said... Dear Snowflake, I am so so so sorry if you would like, tomorrow I could meet you at the workshop. From Elf 1. The next day Elf 1 was working in the workshop. After a while Snowflake walked in. She was fine like nothing happened. Elf 1 thought she was up to something. Later that night at 11:00 pm Snowflake slipped a note on his desk so he would see it. That morning he saw the note it said Dear Elf 1, I loved your note and that got me thinking. I should write one back. So here it is. What I wanted to say is I can meet you at the factory. I forgive you, too.

So that morning he found the note. He got ready and met her down at the toy factory. He said he was so sorry. From there on they were friends.

"Diary of a Cooked goose!"

Dec 22, 2016

Today the farmer gave me 5 times more food for lunch and I don't think it was out of kindness. Then about an hour later the farmer said something that proved my suspicions. We need to fatten you up before Christmas.

Dec 23, 2016

You know what I said yesterday? Well, the farmer did the same thing today, but he gave me more. You might think that I'm crazy for staying but I'm one skinny duck. So I want as much food as I can get. By now I have planned my escape. First I'll stay until Christmas day, then right when he brings out the ax, I'll bolt clear to Hawaii.

Dec 24, 2016

Today the farmer did the same thing as he did yesterday and the day before, but today he gave me more. Now he is even letting me inside of his house. I've tripled in size and now am about the size of a regular goose.

Dec 25, 2016 (Christmas Day)

By now I'm pretty fat, so I guess I'm staying for dinner. At 11:00 A.M. when I was sure I would be dead the farmer said something,"Now you won't be so cold anymore. Here is your present." He handed me a gift. It was a thick winter coat, beak warmer, and gloves.

Dec 26, 2016

Turns out that I really was a cooked goose! The only reason he gave me the gifts was so I would live until after he bought some stuffing. You might be wondering how I'm writing this since I'm on that big farm in the sky? Well, a few days ago, I asked a distant relative of mine to write my last entry and to get my diary published. (The distant relative was a human. Long story which I won't go into because I have a family reunion to get to.)

"Sad Worm"

Sad Worm is a sad worm. It is Christmas in Wormville, and all of Sad Worm's friends are dying. It is too cold to stay alive for the worms. Worm Santa sees Sad Worm sad like that. Worm Santa does worm magic and keeps Sad Worm temporarily happy. Worm Santa makes a warm fire. Worm Santa does Worm Magic and brings back Sad Worm's friends back as ghost worms. The ghost worms say, "Hi" and have a family reunion because all worms are related to each other. Worm Santa says sorry and then Sad Worm finds out it was all a prank. The ghost worms were just worms covered in baby powder. Sad Worm officially changes his name to Happy Worm.

Once Santa Got Stuck

Once upon a time Santa got stuck in a chimney. That night I got in trouble so I had to sleep in the attic. At exactly 11:23 p.m. I heard a noise. I heard this, THUMP, OW, uh-oh. I went down stairs and saw 2 legs a kicken real fast. Then, things got quiet, and I heard, I can't, feel, my hands. Then, BOOM, there was a lot of dust, and I heard, "OW! Well that hurt." Turns out I got a disco ball and a karaoke set. So the rest of the kids in the world got nothing because we danced the night away like it was 1998. Under his big jacket and pants he had MC Hammer clothes on. I saw something great outside after that. A huge star was up in the sky and I saw three fairly big camels coming with people on top. So I went to the back yard and saw an even more amazing thing. Animals and people crowded around a manger. Turns out it was just decorations but I thought they were cool. Back to the party. Then came Ma and Pa. Then all of a sudden pops in Vanilla Ice rapping to Ice, Ice Baby. Then came in the real MC Hammer. After that, a reindeer fell through the roof so our night was over. The next day nobody knew who the big guy in the MC Hammer clothes was.

The PCN would like to thank everyone who wrote for this year's Christmas edition. We would also like to apologize to those students who did not get their stories published. Next year we will have a tighter word-count on individual stories.

Merry Christmas.
