Malta falls to 2B foes

Three Mustangs in double-digits in loss

The Malta Mustangs dropped a pair of games last weekend, nearly coming from behind to catch the Harlem Wildcats last Friday, December 15.

The next night, Saturday, December 16, the team would fall 62-41 to the Poplar Indians who were led by Damon Salder, who scored 23 points.

In the Poplar game, Malta was led by Konner Kuehn who had 10 points. Kevin Henry would add nine points to the effort, Kendall Koss would score seven, Landon VanWichen would score six, Tel Jenson would score four, Kooper Oxarart had three and Tanner Smith had two.

In the team's 59-53 loss to Harlem, Malta was led by VanWichen who had 18 points. Oxarart, who stepped in for an injured starter scored 10 points. Henry scored ten points, Jensen scored five points, Kuehn and Smith had four each and Koss scored two.

Malta fell behind 32-24 at halftime and were outscored again 14-20 in the third quarter. Malta would outscore Harlem 15-8 in the fourth period.

Malta will square off against Wolf Point in Malta this Friday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m.
